I'm disappointed about seeing the end of Zambrano in Chicago, if only because we can no longer look forward to the annual "Carlos Zambrano did (insert amazing story)" threads.
What could possibly lie ahead? Will they embrace lovingly every time Zambrano is pulled? Will they fist fight during a press conference? Will they co-star in a Viagra commercial? It's endless ...
This can't miss. Miami's only on the hook for $3 million; a steal since they'll get $100 million worth of entertainment.
I started two of those four Cubs threads. It's fun looking back on them all, so thanks for that work, cfgb.
Here are the current results to a poll on the Chicago Tribune website, asking "How do you feel about the trade?"
Elated -- no more drama at Wrigley hopefully (1696 responses)- 60%
Sad -- such a waste of talent (872 responses) - 31%
Disappointed -- Cubs should have given him one more shot (250 responses) - 9%
These are the current responses/votes. I would have chosen either "It should have been done years ago" or "It's about freaking time" over "Elated", because we all know there will be more drama at Wrigley.

Point of order, nobody can fill the LaCock-shaped hole better than Dick Pole.
Look, the Cubs already have Reed Johnson, and both Matthew Szczur and Jeff Samardzija sound like they are uncircumcised a little. Plus, we now have Junior Lake on the 40 man roster, so our list of various penis-related names is completely full.
and I believe Dick Trickle is a fan.

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

Zambrano's numbers were almost exactly parallel to Dempster's at four years younger.

I don't think you realize how bad of a pitcher Zambrano has become. I like this trade and I think the trade the Cubs just made for Rizzo was pretty good too. If the Cubs can dump Soriano on some poor team Theo should get a parade.

They will be paying 85% of his contract anyway, and I believe he will be certainly better next year than Volstad.

They won't get rid of the current division format because no way ESPN/FOX is going to allow only 10 Yanks/Red Sox games a year instead of 18. I love the idea of a single division (aka English soccer).
