You've asked, and we've delivered...

The Search feature has been implemented and can be found at the top of every screen in the navigational controls.

It's pretty simple, but it's a lot better than nothing. Just type in the word or words that you want to find. They need to all be next to each other to turn up a result, so in this case, the less information you give the more likely you are to get a match.

For example, Scott Hall would turn up all posts with Scott Hall, scott hall, or any combination of upper and lowercase. Unlike search engines, using Scott AND Hall probably will get you 0 results. (Well, it would technically find this post because the phrase "Scott and Hall" appears.

Think of it like using "" when you are on Google and you'll do alright.

If we notice that the search is getting a ton of use, and there are lots of repeated searches, maybe I'll put a fulltext index on the posts table and toss a Boolean option on there...

Yeah right. You get this, kids. Don't break it

Ah that's a nice touch. I often want to look up old matches in the middle of threads.

EDIT: After trying it I found that it's not that kind of search , I was hoping it was a search for the Slash site.

If you go to Slash, there is a search feature near the top of the page.

Yeah, I know about that search feature on SLASH, I was just hoping for a cross promotion of sorts. A lot of times I want to go back and check see if what somebody said was right or something in a thread will just trigger me wanting to look something up. I guess I live though I'm just lazy.

Uh, this was just a message search. The message board and the site are pretty seperate entities... I have zero control over the main site.

I could link up his search for the site in the search page I think? I'll have to ask Chris what he did to get that to work.

Ummm, I stole some code that Google gave me, pretty much. I think the search box is enclosed by comments if you view source on the /search page.

I'll bug you later on AIM if you REALLY wanna know.

Ok, the Google search of the main Slashwrestling.com site has been added to the search page as well.

I'm not entirely sure about all that's happened (since most evidence has been destroyed), but I can't help but note how right after the ignore function is implemented we start getting all these "wazzocks" in here.
