The Search feature has been implemented and can be found at the top of every screen in the navigational controls.
It's pretty simple, but it's a lot better than nothing. Just type in the word or words that you want to find. They need to all be next to each other to turn up a result, so in this case, the less information you give the more likely you are to get a match.
For example, Scott Hall would turn up all posts with Scott Hall, scott hall, or any combination of upper and lowercase. Unlike search engines, using Scott AND Hall probably will get you 0 results. (Well, it would technically find this post because the phrase "Scott and Hall" appears.
Think of it like using "" when you are on Google and you'll do alright.
If we notice that the search is getting a ton of use, and there are lots of repeated searches, maybe I'll put a fulltext index on the posts table and toss a Boolean option on there...
Yeah, I know about that search feature on SLASH, I was just hoping for a cross promotion of sorts. A lot of times I want to go back and check see if what somebody said was right or something in a thread will just trigger me wanting to look something up. I guess I live though I'm just lazy.
I'm not entirely sure about all that's happened (since most evidence has been destroyed), but I can't help but note how right after the ignore function is implemented we start getting all these "wazzocks" in here.
