I've been thinking of buying a 2nd system to go along with my PS2, but I cant decide between the Gamecube and X-box. There are games on both systems that I want, but the Gamecube is much cheaper. However, the X-box is a better system, with a lot more potential. Can anyone give me advice in which way to go. If it would help I enjoy sports games (though I probably will stick to those on PS2 since I am more familiar with controls and franchises), I also enjoy action/adventre games.
What games that you'd want to play are exclusive to the Xbox (not available for the PS2, GameCube or PC?)
What games that you'd want to play are exclusive to the Cube?
Answer those two questions, and your choice should become clear.
(For me, it was easy. There were exactly two Xbox exclusives that interested me -- Halo and Panzer Dragoon Orta -- and Halo's coming to PC within a couple of months. I came up with a dozen or so Cube exclusives that sounded interesting.)

A big question is how important net play is to you. The Cube has no online game plan, while the Box is definately the leader of the pack in that regard. Personally, I don't care about online gaming and I'm very happy with my Cube, but your milage may vary.
I've gotta agree with the Guru... the ability to play Gameboy games on the big TV is *always* a big seller for me, has been since the SNES. Nintendo always seems to have one gem or another up their sleeves as well, one of those sorts of games that if you don't wind up getting you kick yourself.

Call me when Gameboy games get online play compatibility, or you can play full 4 player modes off one cartridge, and not the infrared spawn games that some GBA games have.
I'll probably buy a GC LONG before I buy an X-Box, but it'll be for the game library and GC's literal domination of the platform game market and not for the Gameboy Player.

The sad thing is that while I'm quite happy with my PS2 and recently bought a GameCube, what have I spent the most time playing this week?
