I really thought he would move to a position as an MMA talking head after dipping his toe in the octagon.

This is a curious move for him, but if a network asked me to come talk about wrestling each week, yeah, I'd do it too.

He has done some MMA commentary/etc in recent years. It looks like it's not even every week for Punk, he's going to be part of a rotation of guests that sit in with Renee & Booker (and Paige?).

I'm...less surprised by this, I think. I mean, there was never really any chance he was going to show up elsewhere, and FOX made him a pretty sweetheart deal. I'm more curious to see if he really brings anything to the table, or if he's just going to be cashing easy checks.

Interesting.

"Never say never" in pro wrestling. WWE surprises me though.

Kinda had to figure, as soon as Dr Sampson showed up with AEW, that Punk would be a no-go there. And AEW & WWE are the 2 with the deepest pockets.

Wonder if he's looking at this as a "gateway" to other work on Fox.

I wonder how long before we see him back in the ring. I'd love to see him win the Royal Rumble and beat Brock Lesnar or The Fiend for the championship at WrestleMania, in the main event. CM Punk pretty much needs to be in a WrestleMania main event sometime in his career.

I don't think we're ever going to see him in the ring again. Punk strikes me as the kind of guy, who if he ever wanted to wrestle again, he wouldn't have quit in the first place. He'd have stuck it out, even if he wasn't happy then. Now that he's quit, I don't think he'll walk the decision back.

On the other hand, I probably would have made the same proclamations on Daniel Bryan or Shawn Michaels, and injuries aside, that's really taught me that, in fact, you never say never.

If they're not buying the replay to see this seemingly awesome match (sorry for the sarcasm), then I would assume that they're just whining for the sake of whining. I'll bet, then, that it doesn't change buying habits in the least.
