WWE and 2K announced today that the single-player career mode of WWE 2K14 will be 30 Years of Wrestlemania, where you re-enact 45 matches through five different WWE eras. They're claiming authentic arenas, entrances, era-appropriate attire, etc.
So far, the only matches confirmed are Rock/Cena, Rock/Hogan, and Hogan/Andre.
Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Ultimate Warrior, and Randy Savage are other confirmed characters with big Wrestlemania histories. Ryback, JBL, and Dolph Ziggler have also been seen in screenshots or otherwise announced. The full roster reveal is coming this Saturday.
This is the roster for the 30 years of Wrestlemania mode.

Question time:
Is there someone left out that you are mad about?
I though Kurt Angle was going to be in this? Why is Hogan in this? I know he has signed a legends deal with WWe, did he sign a deal with 2k sports too?
We all know why Chris Ben isn't in the game.
Where is Eddie Guerrero? Are they really that mad about Chavo's shoot? Did his match involve Ben, and didn't just change it to Eddie vs Rey?
Didn't the Owen Hart lawsuit get settled? Are they still not allowed to use his likeness in games now?
All in all this still looks like a great roster. Best sence Here Comes The Pain? I don't count WWe All-Stars as a real game.
Ok. Piper on twitter stated he is not in the game and bashed it. Which I sorta agree with. Mr. T is probably never going to be in any of these games not that Vince had that in mind back in 1984. Warrior is a DLC. So, you can play through as him I guess, but you have to buy him to play in game. The lawsuit over Owen maybe settled, but his wife still hates wrestling. Flair apparently got trashed at the panel and Steph had to apologize to 2K. His legends deal is DOA now.
Eddie maybe one of the mystery eight DLC characters or arenas or something. I have no idea how they got Hogan. I think the bigger shocker is no Bruno who I thought was a lock for this game.
The roster always looks great. Its the gameplay and nerfing what you can do in matches that has been done in the PG era that makes the games suck. How you are going to do Bret/Austin without blood? I am sure they will, but damn that is almost sacrilege at this point.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
The Owen Hart lawsuit was settled a while back, as far as figuring out what money was owed to his family (a bunch!) and what rights WWE has to use footage of him (all of them). Using him as a video game character is an additional Legends-like deal. It's not impossible, but unlikely one of those will be signed.
TNA does not have an exclusive merchandising deal with Hogan. He made a deal with 2K (not WWE.) TNA does not sound particularly close to a video game deal of their own but this hurts the chances - 'play as Hogan' would have had to been one of the big selling points. Angle probably did not have the same leverage.
Eddie as DLC makes a lot of sense. Burno may be too, but his era is really pre-WrestleMania (plus a couple of cameos) and the style of his era does not exactly work for a video game character.
Piper was guest referee for Yoko/Bret at WMX, and Bret/Backlund at WMXI. Backlund is another one who may not be a good video game character and is more from a pre-WM era, but seems like an easy addition to the game if they wanted to have him in.
GOLDBERG?! Oh, my God. I didn't think I'd ever see him in a WWE game again. I'm also shocked and delighted at the appearance of Razor Ramon in the game. I wonder if Hall and Nash, as The Outsiders, will also be available. Remember that they both attacked Hogan after his match with The Rock at WrestleMania X8.
No Jim Neidhart means no appearances by Bret Hart for quite some time. I'd love for them to get Mr. Perfect and Jake "The Snake" Roberts too.
No Owen, Luger, Piper or Perfect really screws up the narrative of WrestleMania X.
Of course, not everyone has been announced yet.
I do have a guess at the 45 matches, but naturally it's rather long. Are they really gonna let us revisit the dreadful Goldberg/Lesnar match from WrestleMania XX?

Awful nice to hear Gorilla Monsoon's voice on the game's Undertaker ad last night. If the Mania roster can be added to the universe roster of shows, this game is an automatic buy.

I would have liked some more tag teams, Iron Shiek, Goldust and Jake Roberts would have been cool. Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle from the TNA, but overall a really nice list, of course the guys I usually want to play as are DLC anyways.
