As previously threatened, I'm giving the temporary blackout a tryout tonight - so between 1800 and 2010 Pacific, the Wrestling forum will be closed to new threads and new replies in the hopes that you will either (a) actually watch the show instead of being on here talking about it, or (b) find a chat if you can't stay away from participation in real-time discussion.
The other boards will be up and running, but if anyone starts a RAW thread on ANY of them, they'll be banned for at least a hundred years.
People who watch the west coast feed are encouraged to avoid the boards until after 11 or risk RAW being spoiled. (Please do NOT put the word "spoiler" in your RAW threads)
Just a thought, maybe this would be something that would be a good usage of the announcement feature on the board since a lot of folks aren't going to check this folder and then you'll be getting a lot of msgs and threads wondering what the hell happened to the Wrestling folder. Just a suggestion though :)

There'll be a blurb on the main page during the closure. An announcement probably wouldn't work because too many people would be reading it well after the fact...
Please don't hate on me for asking this but- what is the problem with talking about RAW during the show in the wrestling folder? I always watch the show, but if something happens, I'll come on during a commercial and see if there is a reaction to it. Am I missing something obvious here?
I think it has to do with all the chatroom-like posts that go on during the show. You know the ones...
OMG DID YOU SEE THAT!?
OH MAN, when so-and-so's music came on, I marked out huge!
They better not be doing what I think they're gonna do here.
GOOOOLDBEERRRG. GOOOOOOOOOLDBEEEERRRG.
Why did they even have so-and-so win last week if they were gonna do this to him this week?
Get this guy off my TV now! I hope this segment ends soon.
...And so on.
While that style of posting may be fun at the time, it sucks for people who log on to check out the RAW thread AFTER the show and have to wade through 47 of those type of posts in a row before any of the REAL "This is what I thought of the show" threads start.
I've got satellite, and I get the show live at 6 PM PST. This doesn't happen on the cable systems?
"So you're Ben Affleck. You're sitting next to Jennifer Lopez, who's your fiancee, you're eating a eight-foot high sundae, and members of the Boston Red Sox are coming up to you and asking for autographs. If that's not heaven, what is?" - Tony Kornheiser, PTI

You know it really does, but this is just a grand conspiracy to make a hilarous joke on you. Split feeds on cable, what an unbelivable thing. Laugh with me, will you? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

See, I THOUGHT that was the case, but DirecTV has been doing a FANTASTIC job of driving me nuts by having SOME of their channels on split feeds, and SOME of their channels running live East Coast feeds (ie. TNN and ESPN). Combine that with the fact that I just MOVED to the West Coast and I'm still trying to figure out this stuff, and that's how you get the seemingly innocent question.
So there.

Unless, of course he is an NFL fan, and wants to get the Sunday Ticket. That is the NFL's own shortsightedness, and nothing wrong with digital cable. Why the NFL would limit the amount of people that could buy their product is beyond me.

I think it was established long ago that this site has no bandwidth limit, as it runs on the Power of the Warrior.

Ah...the Power of the Warrior, that brings back rope shaking memories...hmm.
Hey GURU ZIM, here a thought, why don't you make somebody else a mod who doesn't care to get spoiled then you wouldn't have to close the forum and you could watch Raw. Besides other than throw in few added words to some messages, what do you do?
I have just a simple question, is this new policy going to affect Smackdown spoilers too? Meaning, do you want us to refrain from discussing Smackdown till it actually airs? just wondering.
Are you going to close the boards during the PPV running times? The same basic principles that applied to your idea of closing the Wrestling folder would apply to the PPV world as well... at least I think it would...
