William Christoper - Father mulcahey on MASH - is probably one of my favorite tv characters of all time. I guess he's not as famous as a lot of celeb deaths this year - but I know it will be big to my daughter.

No more jocularity...

A huge portion of my childhood memories involve watching MASH with my dad and it being the only thing that made him really laugh. (He was a serious type while he was jnside the military.)

Sad news.

Big fan of MASH as well. Christopher projected a remarkable goodness. An under appreciated performance.

I sighed when I read this.
He was always one of my favorite characters on the show.
Always a counter to the cynical words of the main guys.

I had forgotten until facebook's "On this date" app reminded me that he died a year to the day as Wayne Rogers who played Trapper John.

Is there a new MASH curse?

As I turned 60 a few months back, you learn that not only you but the world you grew up in is getting older.

This was very saddening to here. I grew up watching MASH as too, my father enjoyed the show. Now it makes me want to watch the whole series now. BTW, I'm not as old but I am about to hit 40 next month.

I tried watching it last night with the kids. We all tried. We all lasted 10 minutes, and none of us felt like continuing, even my youngest, who likes EVERYTHING.
