and this is only for a SECOND round victory! WOOOO! Awesome guts displyed by the Leafs AGAIN last night - we've never had a clearer path to the Cup final, but Carolina will certainly not be easy - and their fans are just as loud and rowdy as ours. It's gonna be an awesome series. GO LEAFS GO!

Guts, hell yeah. I've never seen so many players, especially high-dollar players, blocking point shots in my life. Truly inspiring to watch, even for a lifelong Habs fan like myself. And Gary Roberts was playing like a man possessed.
But a clear path to the finals? Sorry, Brew, I think the train stops here. I give the Sharks a 50-50 shot to take out the Wings, but I've got to go with Carolina to take out Toronto, probably in 6.
As much as I'd like to see a former linemate of mine in the Stanley Cup finals (Don Maclean; played 2 shifts last night), I don't think it'll happen this year (mind you, if Sundin et al. come back, he'll be scratched by then anyway....)
edit: Looks like I've picked the Sharks to win tonight... (I apologize, my connection with the Psychic Friends network has been hazy since Dionne's been off the pot )

I love what the Leafs have done to this point. It has been a great playoff story. That said:
Goaltending clearly goes to Toronto. Cujo beats out Irbe/Weeks and can carry a team through the playoffs. I believe that Cujo will have to stand on his head at times during this series.
Carolina is just as deep and maybe more talented when you factor all of the injuries into the equation. Carolina is healthy and just as fired up as Toronto.
Carolina in 6.
All my friends are in shock over my Carolina prediction. Then again I have done this before.
As the pattern gets more intricate and subtle, being swept along is no longer enough.
There can only be so much gas left in the Maple Leafs tank and Cujo can only stand on his head so long - as much as the NHL wants a Detroit-Toronto final (original 6 teams) - I think you are looking at the WhalerCanes coming out on top in 7.
