This is potentially the most vague thread ever. How would you gauge or rate the Top 25? How would you even cut it down to 25?? Most TEAMS have 25 prospects...

The only players I can rate with any degree of certainty are the Flames top three prospects (in order): D Dion Phaneuf (WHL), LW Eric Nystrom (NCAA) & D Tomi Maki (Finland)

FLAMES: 19-10-3-3
TOP 10 FILMS OF 2003 [So Far]: Mystic River, Lost In Translation, Finding Nemo, Seabiscuit, House of Sand & Fog, X2: X-Men United, Open Range, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Matchstick Men & The Last Samurai

Most of those guys you listed are already in the NHL. That doesn't really qualify them as prospects.

From NHL.com: "To be considered a rookie, a player must not have played in 25 or more NHL games in any preceding seasons, nor in six or more NHL games in each of any two preceding seasons. Any player at least 26 years of age (by September 15th of that season) is not considered a rookie."

YOUR LIST AGAIN, BUT WITH NHL GAMES IN BRACKETS
Players with "*" after their entry still are rookies/prospects.

14. [LW] Alexander Semin [18+; Washington Capitals]*
15. [D] Fedor Tjutin [0; Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL)]*
16. [D] Dan Hamhuis [36+; Nashville Predators]*
17. [LW] Ales Hemsky [95+; Edmonton Oilers]

i dont think that i left out someone big I picked the top 25 prospects in the world.
"23. Who? HockeyDB.com can't find him..."
Andrei Kostitsyn was drafted 10th by the Canadians in 2003
he was drafted 10th just because he has some health problems that he needs to overcome thus other teams were afraid to take a chance at him, he is a very promosing player.
If u would like to know more about him http://www.hockeysfuture.com/ prospect.php?pid=3562
tnx and Have A Happy New Years.

Though he's only 16, is it too early to add Sidney Crosby to this list?

Rob asks Dave and Ric if they want to go backstage to play Hungry Hungry Hippos and Flair and Batista immediately bail. Flair wants to be Green. Man, EVERYBODY wants to be green. Except the girl in the commercials. She wanted to be pink. That either means that the ad agency was sexist or that she was communist. Of course Hungry Hungry Hippos is a rather capitalist game isn’t it? No self respecting communist would play Hungry Hungry Hippos. Except Stalin. He LOVED Hungry Hungry Hippos. God, I’ve got no clue what the hell I’m rambling about anymore.-- Matt "Excalibur05" Hocking, Raw Satire writer extraordinaire

You know, I just can't call it the "WWE." I just can't. My body's rejecting it like a bad liver transplant.-- Bill Simmons, espn.com/page2

From Jerry Maguire:
"Until they turn pro, it's like popcorn in the pan: some pop, some don't."

There's no way to fairly give a player a number based upon their percieved potential. The NHL's Central Scouting department has tried for years, and rarely do they give perfect rankings.

Sydney Crosby will be something. The only problem is his size. I have seen him play several times and he is the real deal.

Everything I say is a lie. Except that. Except that. Except that. Except that. Except that....Except that.
