So due to me screwing up the dates of a cruise I'm going on next week, it turns out I have a little over 24 hours to kill in Mobile. We'll have a car so we can drive, but honestly I am just not seeing much worth doing in Mobile. Other than having dinner reservations our time is empty there so far.
So are there any Alabama W's who can give some advice on the city/area and what is fun? I'll take any suggestions at this point. Help!
I have visited there before. There is an old, old fort on the water woth checking out if you are into such things. Also the USS Alabama (WWII battleship) and a WWII submarine. But again you probably must be interested, although my wife who isn't was fascinated by the two ships.

I was thinking about the Alabama as something to do in the afternoon. I love that kind of stuff, but the lady not so much...glad to hear it can keep the interest of someone who isn't a history buff :)

There's an Imax there, There's Dreamland, a fantastic BBQ place, there's Briggs Mansion (which I have driven by, but never stopped)
This is what I was going to suggest as well. It's where half my family live, and there is a lot to do. IN addition to the things AWArulz said, there's always the casino's, and by playing and losing money there, you help rebuild the city that was REALLY devastated by Katrina! It's win win! (well, LOSE/WIN)
