Ditto. I forgot all about that one until I looked at James1978's profile. Something about "a england tree" had me lose it.

I am still looking for those seeds for him.

I would start a "what's your favorite james1978 quote?" thread, but I fear it might not only cause this board to be shut down, but they might just cancel the internet forever at that point.

I'm glad he only lasted only 25 posts. Yeah, I'd have to agree those are some W threads not to be forgotten. I think the one on driving to Lima was my favorite. There the boards going to be shut down. LOL.

It's especially funny because I've seen CRZ make that same kind of joke in recaps. They really are perfect for each other.

This one (http://the-w.com/thread.php/id=15196) came to mind immediately, since nothing beats baseball fans mouthing off at each other. Ironically, three years later, I am sick of fucking death of hearing about the Yankeesa and Red Sox.

Scene: Mark DeRosa's brain. The year is 2005.
Part of Mark DeRosa's brain: Come on, another position change? One day it's second base, the next day right field, now it's third? Why, I oughta go into Buck's office and throw his talking fish on the floor!
Other part of Mark DeRosa's brain: Hold on, other part of the brain. We're making $500,000 this year. Last year we made $725,000. All for playing a damn kids' game. This is, as they say in Brainland, a no-"us"-er. We're not going to complain.
Part of Mark DeRosa's brain: You're right, dude. Let's go back to looking at this crazy porn Teixeira gave us!

Along those same lines, I'm partial to this post (The W).

I'll admit it. I love this thread. Yeah, it did get a little "I hope she's locking her doors" creepy at one point, but I still got to rip on JayJayDean for being a Bryan Adams fan, It just has all the perfect elements of a complete and total train wreck.

I was disappointed TTP wasn't allowed back for Troll Amnesty - although I'm fairly certain watching him drive CRZ up the wall was infinitely more enjoyable for me than it was for CRZ.

I don't know how I missed that thread the first time around - it was probably one of the periods where I was:
1 - not reading the board much
2 - not posting on the board much
but wow, that's fantastic. Although I feel a need to defend myself on a post from that thread, about 2 years too late.

Hey! I resent that.

I think my favorite threads came from the 2003 baseball season. This guy (The W) started off the series, which ran a total of 10 threads. Good times.

I stumbled upon this gem (The W) today from asteroidboy on the Steve Bartman Game (game 6 of the 2003 NLCS):

He really should have turned heel after he deflected that ball. Something as simple as tearing off his shirt, to reveal a Marlin's uniform. Then after the game, he could've cut a promo on local TV talking about how he got tired of putting up with all the losing as a Cubs fan, and all the idiots in Chicago, so he decided to go with a real winner. Then Dusty Baker could've run in, and said, "You won this round, but wait till Wednesday!!"
Imagine the heat! (and the riots)

My buddy suggested an alternative - the guy unzips his head, to reveal an actual marlin underneath.

I laughed for a good...30 seconds.

I'm suffering through another insufferable bit of insomnia right now, so I was looking through some old threads that I posted in using the quote feature. Came across this piece of work called "Kool Moe Dee?" It's the best thread ever, Kim is my favorite person ever, and the only thing I'd change is that now of course I recognize that the number one FAQ question would be "Who raised the briefcase?"

Kool Moe Dee?

I miss Dean Rasmussen's Smackdown comics...as well as the fashion reports. Those were really good.

What happened to Dean, anyhow?

I agree that the briefcase question would be the #1 item on the list.

I also read through that whole thread from nearly six years ago and I am quite glad that I was not one of the posters in that thread. Not that I wasn't thoroughly entertained by the thread as I am usually quite entertained by Kim's postings, but my non-appearance makes me think that once in a while I do have the common sense to not post something.

Does that still get asked? I remember it cropping up every month or two back in the day, but I haven't really read much of the Wrestling forum in a while.

I missed *this* thread first time round, and have to confess to getting a chuckle out of pretty much any of James1978's works that were brought up.

Also in the guilty pleasure category, there was a thread a while back in Site Bashing that started off with someone who was pissy at 411 being unavailable (again). A few posts in some new-fellow-come-troll popped up to express great anger at the disparaging comments thrown 411's way The gist of his argument appeared to be that we were all gaye (his spelling) and should all go live in Iraq. He was particularly pissy at Dean I think.

Anyways, the whole thing amused me way more than it probably should've. When I get a minute (read - when I'm not being so lazy) I'll have a hunt for it.....

Wow, some of you guys come off like real idiots in that one. (Actually I'm not sure any of those folks are still posting here today?) I'm so glad we don't have shit like that here anymore. Here was what I said about it back then, in case you're wondering where I ended up in that thread. (The W)

I didn't know where else I could acknowledge this post that came up in my random quote feed today, so I'm going to put it here. Back in 2002, no-longer-active user Tragic1, in a proposed stable idea, really nailed a future WWE fixture:

When Owen and Jarrett were teaming up, I thought that they should be called Legacy since they were both second generation wrestlers. I think that could work as a stable as well. A bunch of heels who think they're owed something because of who their fathers were.

Mr. Perfect- Leader/mentor to the younger members

Sean Stasiak- son of a former WWF champion. Put him in a tag team with...

Randy Orton- Third generation wrestler, son of "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Jr.

Chavo Guerrero, Jr.- Also 3rd gen, cruiser for the group. And if the rumors are true...

Eddy Guerrero- Rumored to be coming back. IC Title contender.

Other wrestlers that would be eligible (though not necesarily fit in) are: Goldust (have to drop the gimmick), The Rock (seems more of a loner right now, unless he turns heel and takes Perfect's spot as leader), Dean Malenko (semi-retired), and any McMahon except for Linda (Highly unlikely except for Shane).

He got the name, concept and even one of the members right, about six years before it actually happened. I was impressed.

I actually thought about it, but I decided it was equally out of place in both in that technically it was an answer to neither. :)

There was a time when I thought the answer to this question was obvious. Pan and Scan in my opinion, is a totally unacceptable way to watch a movie.
