7 years, $36.6 mil, sez CBS Sportsline.

First Teddy Washington, now Sapp...does this mean Oakland won't suck this year?

Nope.

Star wipe, and...we're out.

If they have some better than average linebackers and a better than average blitz, that's going to be one scary defense. Don't know how the aging offense will improve, but both Washington and Sapp are a rushing linebacker's best friend, as they're both known to take double-teams from offensive linemen.

They'll still suck, just suck less.

With Sapp and Washington, its a pretty safe bet that all Oakland restaurants will shy away from 'All You Can Eat' specials. Washington will help the Raiders some, Sapp will just be an annoyance. To bad Romanowski is gone, as those two jackasses could have gotten into some good fights in the huddle.

Why is TVLand stealing my ideas from DEAN's Workrate Report's? They had to be stealing, as I thought I had the only demented mind that could put Bea Arthur and Abe Vigoda in a sex scene.

The Raiders are still 8 or 9 good players away on offense.

This is a waste of a signing. All the holes on that team and they sign a DT. I guess Al Davis was annoyed at the Eagles being in the headlines and had to do something to satisfy Raider Nation.

What this shows, without a doubt, is that Sapp was more about money than a chance to win. His playing days will be limited to 3=4 years, and he wanted a huge pay day. I can accept that, I only hope that when he never sees the postseason again, we dont have to hear him bitch and complain.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer team or individual. Let's see - big-mouthed, over-rated guy? Check. Penalty-prone team? Check.

I echo all the same feelings ... Al Davis is just adding to the has-been club ... they are becoming the WCW of the NFL.

With their two BIG free agent signings, the average age of the Oakland Raiders is now 57.6 years old if I did the math right.

That just about sums it up! Maybe they can get Schiavone to do play by play for them. By the way, awesome avatar!

I can safely assume that your math is wrong. Uness Jerry Rice is up in the high 80's.

I guess Ryan's plans of running a 3-4 2 gap base that he was familiar with in New England are out the window due to an ego signing by Al Davis.
