It seems as if the Patriots owner doesn't watch THE SIMPSONS. If he did, he'd know to NEVER allow foreign dictators to hold or look at things worth a lot of money.
This cracked me up.

"What do you think it's like being created by a manic-depressive, paranoid schizophrenic, hypochondriac, misogynist with delusions of grandeur and a messiah complex?"
Here is the press release from Robert Kraft on the situation. This explains it all.
"At the end of a very productive three-hour business meeting with President Putin, organized by my good friend Sandy Weill, I showed the president my most recent Super Bowl ring. Upon seeing the ring, President Putin, a great and knowledgeable sports fan, was clearly taken with its uniqueness. At that point, I decided to give him the ring as a symbol of the respect and admiration that I have for the Russian people and the leadership of President Putin. I have ancestors from Russia, so it added significance for me to know that something so cherished would reside at the Kremlin along with other special gifts given to Russian presidents. It was truly an act of serendipity and one that I am honored to have experienced. It touched me to see President Putin’s reaction to the ring and I felt, emotionally, that it was the right way to conclude an exceptional meeting."
So he actually GAVE it to him?? Every other place I've seen/heard this story made it sound like Putin somehow just up & made off with it, like maybe Kraft let Putin wear it just for fun, but then there was some sort of misunderstanding that lead Putin to believe that it was a gift, which does sound kinda crazy now that I type it out loud.

That's the most likely scenario. Kraft shows off ring. Putin says that's nice. Thanks for the gift. Kraft doesn't know what to do. Yeah, I meant to give it to him. My ancestors are from Russia. Yeah, that's it.
Originally posted by StiltonI'll bet this was all just an embarassing misunderstanding. Putin is probably blushing about this one.
Um.... since when is Putin a dictator?
Since he's done nothing but consolidate power and take over oil companies with trumped up charges.
I just want to see him give television interviews with that ring on.

Kraft was probably wearing the same damn shirt he always wears too...the white color, light blue shirt with a red tie...he deserves to lose the ring on principle.

It's a wonderful business decision by Kraft. Give Putin the ring worth from 20-40k, which he could always have remade, and then get advantages with his businesses in Russia that could be worth millions. And, of course, the scoreboard now reads: Putin: 1 Super Bowl Ring Manning Family: 0 Super Bowl Rings

I was thinking Putin 1, Marino 0, myself.
I hate you. Lots.
Give Marino Jerry Rice and then see what he could have done.

Clayton and Duper should have been enough.
Just a defense in the Mid/Late 80s would have done it. Even if that meant having to watch Nathan/Hampton/Bennett/Davenport play Sucky RB Hydrabeast.
The MAN in that time period was supposed to be David Overstreet, but in the 83 offseason he skidded and crashed into a gas station. The results were not good.

It's more a reaction to people pointing at Montana's Super Bowl rings as proof he's better then Marino and me saying "Yea, and maybe Rice had a part in that."
But yes, having better running or better defense would have been something very nice and completely opposite from the frustration I felt when the Dolphins never gave Marino anything to help.
It seemed like they felt just throwing Marino out there should be enough every year, and me yelling at my TV "No, it has never been enough or he would have won by now."

Montana did have 2 Super Bowl Rings (and 1 National Title in College) before he ever met Jerry Rice.

LOL! I'm a Pats fan, but that was damn funny. (Probably just because I watched their season highlights DVD with Kraft wearing that outfit in every damn shot. Ditto Belichek and the grey hoodie) I imagine Kraft's closet to look like Fred Flinstone's. Racks and racks of the same shirt and tie.
