“WWE is entering a critical juncture in its history with the upcoming media rights negotiations coinciding with increased industry-wide demand for quality content and live events and with more companies seeking to own the intellectual property on their platforms,” McMahon said in a statement. “The only way for WWE to fully capitalize on this opportunity is for me to return as Executive Chairman and support the management team in the negotiations for our media rights and to combine that with a review of strategic alternatives. My return will allow WWE, as well as any transaction counterparties, to engage in these processes knowing they will have the support of the controlling shareholder.”
“I look forward to working closely again with Michelle and George – as well as the Company’s remaining directors and management team, who have my full support and confidence,” McMahon added. “WWE has an exceptional management team in place, and I do not intend for my return to have any impact on their roles, duties, or responsibilities.”
Annnd that's pretty much what happened. Vince held them hostage to get back on the Board by saying if they didn't, they'd never get his vote on any impending $$ deals. Not just the next round of negotiations with USANBCPeacock and Fox, but in the event of a potential sale. So now he's there and his two pals joined him... and one of the people they shoved out was the leader of the internal investigation into Vince.
Annnnnnd.... the gossip mill says maybe they'll just sell the whole Fed to someone who will take it private. No, not Elon Musk, but (this appeared to be total speculation out there but not 100% impossible) the Saudi Arabian conglomerate who tried to launch that golf tournament with Phil Mickelson that had huge blowback.

CNBC's speculation thankfully does NOT include the Saudis:
I thought 2022 was wild and here we are in 2023 with Vince coming back with five total board members gone, the plutonium grade copeuim of Nick/Stephanie saying "day to day won't change and Vince coming back is a good thing" but rumors that Vince wants to only sell to someone that puts him in charge of everything, and everyone from Disney to the Saudis being possible buyers.
