I just finished the whole thing. It wasnt anything those of us who have been around since the old days would find ground breaking. Im going to be super general here and try not to spoil anything but, again, I dont think it would be a spoiler for too many on the board.
- It contained some of the famous WWE revisionist history we've been hearing for the last 10 or 20 years (the cliq and DX revolutionized the business and created the attitude era for example) but they then provide some counter points for it through various interviews, which was nice.
-Sure seems like Ruthless Aggression Era Mr. McMahon is a lot closer to real life Vince than any other version. Many online have stated this over the years as well, though. I had forgotten over the years just how many gross sexual/demeaning segments Vince was a part of back then. Seems to fit the narrative of him being a sexual predator/deviant getting off seeing how much of his sexual predilections he can get away with showing the world. Also, some of those weird angles involving women that made no sense and went nowhere were him getting back at women who "wronged" him.
I dont know, it could have been a little shorter and I dont think it lived up to the hype of being this crazy/damning confessional some have made it out to be. Good, but not great. The old Mr McMahon DVD actually was a little better IMO.
Definitely agree about it not being groundbreaking.
The most telling quote in there was from a journalist who kind of said in passing "never believe anything any professional wrestler tells you."
It was obvious that most people were just trying to work the audience, most of time pretty blatantly. It must have been just intensely frustrating for the filmmakers. Definitely Vince, DEFINITELY Shane who has some just cringeworthy stuff in there ('Yeah... I got a hug that day). Stephanie, HHH, Pritchard, Heyman, Rock, andyone still associated at all with WWE just did the typical pitch for the typical narrative they wanted to sell. The two journalists (and Tony Atlas) provided a little balance, but not enough.
It was crazy just how poorly all that stuff from 90s and 2000s aged. Like, look, I remember being as amused by it as anyone, but now it seems really, really gross (if the Rock ever actually wants to run for office he's gonna have to do a little explanatory tour for all that stuff first, it's nuts.
The biggest thing for me was, after watching Vince do the series I became even more convinced about all the allegations against him. Who the hell says something they want their legacy to be is being remembers as "sexually active?" He just seemed to be that guy who needs the world to know that he fucks.
"The woman suing Vince McMahon over allegations he sexually abused her is now targeting a Connecticut doctor with ties to the former WWE honcho ... claiming she was sexually abused at the physician's clinic.
Attorneys for accuser Janel Grant, 44, filed a motion in a CT court on Tuesday ... demanding doc Carlon Colker's office turn over any records relating to her care at Peak Wellness, his practice.
Grant claims McMahon, along with a Peak Wellness physical therapist, sexually abused her at the medical clinic -- including one instance in which McMahon defecated on her head and forced her to engage in a sexual act with the employee.
She also claims Dr. Colker "repeatedly medicated" her with "unknown substances."
Watched about half of this so far - I thought the first part was pretty positive toward Vince. He's really portrayed as the guy who had a vision, knew hoe he could get there and ruthlessly went there and got it.
I am anticipating the next few episodes will not be as positive
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.
That the universe was formed by a fortuitous concourse of atoms, I will no more believe than that the accidental jumbling of the alphabet would fall into a most ingenious treatise of philosophy - Swift

Oh My God this is horrible. I feel horrible for supporting this man all these years. Its almost cartoonishly evil
You know, in the end this is just wrestling, and I think someone's marriage, which is supposed to be a blessed event, would be more important then (pretty low-quality) entertainment.
