Oh dear... do we even want to dig into this absolute nightmare? Everything about this latest revelation about Vince McMahon's behind the scenes behavior is beyond the pale. But not surprising - because no matter how horrible a human being we know Vince is, things can be worse!
The actual WSJ article is behind a paywall with most links but here's the NBC News recap of it all... I'm not writing about the specifics here...
Oh man, the NBC article doesn't even get into the Brock Lesnar of it all, who was essentially "offered" this woman as part of contract negotiations at one point.
A new low? It's Vince, I'm sure it'll get lower...
That the accusations are so severe a 30(?)-year advertiser threatened to pull away from the company really tells you what you need to know. Ironically, selling the company might be the one thing that enables a clean sweep here, with all of Vince's old cronies looking at the door right now. I think the big question is if TKO waits for parties to actually be named, or just send all of the old guard packing.
I could probably write 10 000 words about this but I'll keep it as short as I can.
If this is true, and there appears to be enough evidence where we can assume at least some of it is true, then F Vince, F Brock and F Johnny Ace. Im sure there are others involved. If you think back through the years, theres a pattern here. I remember Vince and Bruno going at it on Larry King, I remember others going at Vince on Donahue. I remember similar stories involving male and female employees and various other high ranking officials (including Vince) within the company.
Vince seems to have a predatory pattern. He likes to zero in on women who are desperate and need his money and help. Some have said his control issues stem from his traumatic childhood. He micromanages his company down to the last detail and there are dozens of stories of him losing his mind when he cant have full control.
Think back to his bizarre appearance on Bob Costas' show where he lost his mind when Bob started criticizing his on screen treatment of Trish Stratus. Perhaps that hit too close to home?
Reading of this woman and some of the others who have accused him over the years, my mind immediately jumped to Dana Warrior. Doesnt she fit this pattern to a t? Desperate woman suddenly brought into the fold and given a high paying job in the company?
I could go on and on but I guess I am also feeling angry and duped. For so many years I sided with Vince in these issues, believing him that these were all baseless claims or that he knew nothing about the goings on in his company. Vince Mcmahon, the ultimate micromanager. And I allowed myself to be duped.I spent a lot of money over the years on his product. some of my money, pennies probably, enabled Vince and company to get away with whatever he wanted with these women.
Also, many of Vinces closest and most loyal "Superstar" allies are the conservative, and/or religious types like Taker, JBL, Shawn, etc. Are we to believe these men knew nothing about this? Did they know and turn a blind eye out of loyalty? Is there a more sinister reason for the unusual amount of two way loyalty between these folks? Did they enjoy a few extra "perks" during their contract negotiations as well?
If all Brock did was send a text, can he be forgiven or redeemed? Is this his first foray into this type of behavior? I think any alpha male Ive ever heard of would not engage in this type of behavior with a trafficked woman, certainly not an "Alpha Male of Our Species" so that isnt a thing any more. In all honesty he can jump off a cliff for all I care. The idea of a man with wife and daughters setting up "playdates" with his bosses sex slave makes me sick.
I dont know. Im probably going to be drifting away from wrestling for a while now, maybe after the dust settles on this maybe Ill check WWE out again in a few years. I dont know if I have the time to get into the indies now, hopefully AEW sticks around. Hopefully none of the guys in AEW were involved in any of this.
Its too soon to joke or make light of this in any way, but eventually Id like to know who he named his dildos after.
Sorry again for the long rant but this really made me angry and its nice to be able to let out some steam here.
It is absolutely fine to be filled with anger at Vince and his cronies for this. I am mad as well, but I’m a wrestling fan, so I’ll continue to watch some of many promotions in the US and elsewhere. This includes the WWE, AEW and other promotions, but I completely understand if people stop supporting WWE. This also seemingly answers questions about the rest of the McMahon family members leaving at different times, especially Stephanie recently.
