The Sacramento Kings have agreed to trade restricted free agent guard Tyreke Evans to the New Orleans Pelicans, where he will sign a four-year, $44 million deal.
The Pelicans sent guard Greivis Vasquez to the Kings and Pelicans center Robin Lopez was sent to the Portland Trail Blazers. The Kings will send the Trail Blazers two second-round draft picks and cash.
Evans averaged 15.2 points, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals in his 65 games played in 2012-13, his fourth NBA season. Evans' points-per-game average has steadily declined every season from its rookie-year high of 20.1.
Interesting offseason thus far for the Pelicans, who have already acquired All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday from Philadelphia.

Hm. Portland didn't trade away anybody at all. Maybe it's to compensate them for taking on Lopez's salary? Beats me.

The way I see it, the Kings and Pelicans traded players and both sent the Trail Blazers a total of a player, two 2nd round picks, and money for nothing in return. Sweet deal for Portland. I wish teams would send the Wizards players, draft picks, and money for no reason whatsoever.

Yep, popped up on my AP app just now, but fuhgettaboutit. Didn't *think* I was going nuts (again).
Still a good deal for the Blazers and Pels. Lopez was the Hornets' starting center and had a career year last season. Big loss for Sacramento, however, but it's better than matching an offer sheet and forcing Evans to play for what will presumably still be a bad team next year, or letting him walk for nothing.

Wait, Pelicans? Not hornets? When did that happen?

I think Dickau will end up much like Bibby. Unremarkable on a crappy Atlanta team for a couple of years then traded to a contending team where he really starts showing his skills.
