Today Flames goaltender Roman Turek and former Flames captain Dave Lowry both announced their retirements from the NHL. Turek will likely return to the Czech Republic to play for a club team, while Lowry joins the WHL's Calgary Hitmen as an assistant coach.
Both moves were pretty much expected, what with the Flames trading for former Avalanche goaltender Phillipe Sauve yesterday.
Sigh. Well, I watched game four, and I'm very sad. Despite the 3-0 score, the Leafs deserved to win that one and make it a series again. I have to hand it to Irbe, though I never thought HE'D be the goalie to beat us.
