In short, Carlson, while subbing in for Sean Hannity, was hosting a panel discussing Obama commending the Eagles' owner for giving Vick a second chance. Apparently (at least according to the article) Carlson does NOT believe that those who have paid for their crimes should ever be allowed become productive members of society. Ever.
I love dogs. I've raised several dogs from puppyhood. I think what Vick did was wrong. But I'm also not insane. I'm on the fence about the death penalty (i.e., I don't really care enough to give it that much thought) but if we're going to start executing people for animal cruelty, I can tell you exactly which side of the fence I'd sit on that issue.
I'm gonna have to assume that Carlson was just looking for a reaction. There's no way he actually believes this stuff.
I'm shocked that anyone would still take Tucker Carlson seriously, assuming anyone ever did in the first place.
Having said that, I'll look for the anti-Vick sentiment to suddenly come out of the woodwork from buffoonish pundits like that if Vick leads the Eagles to the Super Bowl.

Tucker had standing as a respected voice?
He had ~some~ cache as a pundit, let's say a low midcarder as he was lacking the inflammatory books like Coulter or the exclamations like Drudge to stand on. But he was a conservative CNN voice, and that job vanished quickly after the Stewart demolition.

It is ironic that people are more upset about animal cruelty than say vehicular manslaughter or some of the other offenses that players now in the NFL have committed.
Tucker Carlson was supposed to be this young voice for the GOP to counter the youth factor that the Dems seem to always have. Then, Jon Stewart proceed to ass rape him on his own show and if I remember correctly, it was in front of an a live audience who cheered John on. Since then, he has become a punchline and let me tell you how not shocked to see him on Fox News, its where somewhat coherent Republican pundits go to get even crazier.
While I don't think Vick did enough time and him running around a field or throwing a ball somehow makes him a better person doesn't impress me. Killing Vick, which by the way was never going to happen, is a terrible thing to wish on the guy. As bad as I view Vick, he never deserved death. This was done mainly, because Obama thought it was a nice story of redemption. Once Obama does something, Fox and the GOP just take the opposite side since this is all a ratings game to this people. The more insane shit they can get away without the FCC taking away their license, the more ratings they think they will get. Its not like they are supposed to report fact or be objective with their stories. You know, its not like there are lives at stake or something if they get shit wrong. I also think Tucker is so irrelevant, he is doing it to be a face in the public image, sell his insane shit to other like-minded douchbags and then have a meeting with Vick after he looks to be fading from the spotlight.
Regardless, I hope this fades fast, but it will be turned into a firestorm just in time for the Eagles' kickoff where Vick won't play. Thus causing more controversy since idiot pundits will think its due to Tucker instead of the beating he took on Tuesday from the Vikings' D. Also, the 11th Doctor has a bow tie, bow ties are cool.
I give him credit. He managed to make Sean Hannity look like the normal, sane one, I suppose.
Personally, I don't like Vick, I think he's a first-rate jerk, and probably should still be in prison but calling for anyone to be killed is stupid and immoral.

well, not that I am for execution for animal cruelty, but I am wholeheartedly in favor of execution. It completely eliminates recidivism. Murderers - kill 'em, Rapists, pretty much too - we used to execute a lot of people and in general our prison populations was, as a percent, lower.
We are at about 2.3 million or about .7% of the population incarcerated now. in 1950, when timely executions were still relatively common, that population was about .16% or 250,000 inmates.
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

The war on drugs says hi. I'm pretty sure that you aren't advocating the death penalty for drug use, are you?

This also assumes a perfect legal system in which no innocent people get erroneously executed, which is essentially state sanctioned murder. Sorry, but I think we're FAR FAR FAR from having a system that can guarantee perfection.

I should have expanded on that - I meant calling for anyone to be killed as Carlson did not necessarily talking about the death penalty. :) I didn't want to talk about anything like that outside of the Current Events board since it's one of those hot buttons!

This would be why some FSU fans are happy to play the game. The attitude that FSU was "refusing" to play this game, like they didn't have other games scheduled or were ducking USF.
