Was browsing through countingdown.com and picked up this link to a about a five minute video on Dreamworks shooting Transformers at Holloman. It's pretty good.

Also while at IMDB.com they report via the credits page that Peter Cullen the original voice of Optimus Prime is going be doing the voice ONCE AGAIN. Oh, dreams can come true.

Great news about Welker, I had already heard about Cullen from G4. However looking at that IMDB page I'm wondering who in the world Dane Cook is doing the voice of.

He's slated to just have a cameo in the film (for now).

I'd take this stuff with a grain of salt. IMDB often incorrectly lists information for movies in production.

While Cullen is confirmed, Welker, although the likely candidate and the logical choice, is just a rumor at this point. He has not been publicly confirmed.

That was pretty cool video. It was neat to get a look behind the scenes of the shooting on the base. I do have to wonder though - one of the things the military was going on about was the chance to show how impressive the military equipment and training can be. However, going by cartoon canon, all I can think of is the Decepticons being fairly impervious to conventional weapons thus rendering our attempts to fight back as rather futile. But then again, that's the cartoon-viewing me thinking.

Excellent to hear about Optimus. Wouldn't be the same otherwise. I am so very much looking forward to this movie, but I'm still afraid of not being able to get past the nit-picky nerd-fanboy trap.

Is Starscream's voice-actor dead? I had heard he was. I hope not, because this movie cannot work without a shrill: "MEGATRON...PLEEEEASE!"

I'd assume that with modern computer technology they can make James Earl Jones sound like Starscream if they want to.

But ofcourse, where possible, it's cooler if they use the originals.

Sadly, yes. (imdb.com)

I'll always remember him for his performance as Cobra Commander. "I wassss a man...."

I would've been fine with Gary Chalk since he was the second best Prime. But I'm happy with this.

I won't be satisfied until they get Frank Welker back as Megatron. Also all the other living va's for the returning characters in the movie.

There is no point in casting movie stars or celebrities in these roles.

I enjoyed the debut of "Life on Mars" on BBC America. The premise looked obvious, but then the main character saw through it as well and working through some logical actions which provoked logical responses from the other characters.
