* Indians get Andrew Miller
* Indians DON'T get Jonathan Lucroy, who turns down the trade thanks to his no-trade clause
* Nationals get Mark Melancon
* Cubs get Aroldis Chapman, a few days ago

George Michael weighed his options. Maeby had chastised him for not taking risks, and what would be a bigger risk than perpetuating a lie about software just to ignite the passions of a woman? Of course it would be a lie, and since Maeby wouldn't know it was a lie, he wouldn't appear to be taking a risk. Perhaps the bigger risk was to tell his father he was lying, that he came up with it because he wanted his father to leave so he could enjoy what remained of his senior year. After all, he wondered, wouldn't that be the course of action taken by an overtly sexual man, a man who owns a pair of matador pants? He had not responded now for 41 seconds according to his unfailing internal clock, and it was time to come clean.

Up yours, Lucroy.

Rangers get Carlos Beltran AND Jonathan Lucroy AND Jeremy Jeffress. Yikes. I still don't care for their rotation after Hamels and Darvish, but that lineup is stacked.

Weird deadline for the Marlins. They got Cashner and Rea last Friday, Rea hurts his elbow in his first start on Saturday, and the Marlins get one player they traded on Friday back in exchange for sending the injured Rea back to the Padres.

They really needed another back-end starter and seemed to be in on most of them at the deadline, but didn't pull the trigger. I'm sure with the need for starters overriding the supply, as well as the idea that the starting pitching market will be terrible coming up in free agency, teams were asking for a goldmine. And the Marlins are hurt by having an extremely poor farm system.

Yankees did well, but it's got to be weird for them.

Some incredible prospects: Gleyber Torres, Clint Frazier and Justus Sheffield would have been enough without the others.

Yankees farm systems goes to the top, although the Dodgers even with the losses are still up there. Cubs best are all with the MLB team now.

I disagree. Rafi might be back in Texas as a DH/Fill in. I think the Twins could use his hand as well. And if he wants to play 1st, well, I think you could find a few jobs for him - Maybe Washington? I don't think he's ruined.
