I'm at work right now (SHHH, don't tell), but I read the spoilers on Torch tonight and it doesn't sound like it was any good.

Perhaps I'm most disappointed that they didn't put the Show over UT and take a chance on breaking him out as a big star.

Anyway, so should I RUSH HOME and go watch my Smackdown tape anyway, or go drinking. Work ends soon, so post an opinion.

It was ok. Nothing to write home about. Had its moments. Had its crap.

Kind of a treading water thing before Monday, other than the main.

I'm surprised the Rock is getting a title shot at the Rumble. Not only was I sure he was going to win the Rumble itself, but the match is going to be way down on star power now too.

The good parts of Smackdown were: the RVD/Edge vs Y2J/Angle match, the Jazz/Mighty Molly match, Rock's promo, and the promo with Steph and the security guy (best use of Billy Gunn *ever*).

The Bad parts of Smackdown were: all the crappy beatdowns by Boss Man.

But overall, even though this show didn't much significance to it, it was entertaining enough for me.

I'll sure be happy to see HHH back Monday on Raw... even if it looks as though he will be a face.

Oh yeah! I forgot there was a "CRZ is Walking" sign shown right behing Lawler! Cool!

Anyone else catch the big "CRZ is Walking" sign right behind Cole and Lawler during the intros for Big Show/Taker? Was that the same guy as last time?

Why don't they give Jericho the microphone for 20 minutes like they gave HHH on his first title run?

He doesn't even have a storyline, and the feud w/ RVD gets scratched so The Rock can pop a buyrate w/ a title shot at the Rumble.

We would have to put up w/ 'My Time' striking up about 8 times during RAW back in '99.

And the Penguins SUCK.

Well, since this post is being conceived at 1147 PM CST on Jan. 3, I can officially set the countdown on the Chris Jericho title reign at 16 days, 19 hours, and 13 minutes. Enjoy the belts while you can, because the inevitable Rock title win is coming, and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it. Rock/Austin Part 4 is coming, maybe with HHH somehow involved if we've all been good this year so Santa Vince will give us that treat. Hey Chris, enjoy the WM match with Edge.

There, I feel better now.

I think Jericho will retain at the Rumble. I think this stable with him, Test, Christian and Storm could be cool, as long as Christian and Storm don't form a tag team (that's the last thing Christian needs right now). I still think Rock will somehow be the one who winds up getting a title shot at Wrestlemania.

Jericho and Angle are just treading water. I agree w/ BucsFan...Rock will end up getting the WM title shot...and his long awaited win. Then again, WM is in Canada.

I'd really hate to think that Jericho will lose the Undisputed Title at the Rumble...especially to The Rock. I'm hoping the WWF gives him a much longer run with the title that they're appearing to. He should definately hold it up to Wrestlemania, I hope they give him a chance. Jericho is one of the most entertaining wresters in the WWF today.

Not only that, but his character in Fire Pro D is pretty damn good too.

I was shocked when Rock won. I spent all night knowing Rock was going to win (why would they do Booker-Jericho?) and then Michael Cole spouted the "The Rock is Ric Flair's #1 Contender" line before the match and I was expecting a lack of a winner with Flair saying Rock was #1 Contender and Vince saying the same about Booker, another element to the split. But alas, Rock beats Booker AGAIN and now we get Rock-Jericho AGAIN (they've all been good, but they shouldn't overdo it, I want to be able to enjoy this feud for the next 2 years, not say "man I've seen this too much"). Overall, I thought the show was good, my main question is why the hell is Molly jobbing all the time? She's the most talented person on that female roster, in fact, it's not even close. Jazz looks like she has some ability, but come on! Not to mention that Molly seems to have mic skills. Jazz's segment wasn't bad, but it was way too long (she talks way too slow) and it actually had me fearing that Lillian was really going to be replacing Molly (I should have known better yes, but it's a scary thought and those are hard to get rid of). Oh and "What?" sucks now, the crowd has ruined it. "Who?" on the other hand...

Actually if Booker keeps saying it, it will get over and that's sad.

And I think you're fat. So how do you like me now?

I liked UT/Show until the finish. Why work on a man's leg the entire match, and have him sell it if the finish is a dragon sleeper? WTF?

As for "Who?" It can lead to only one of three things:

1. A WWF version of Abbot and Costello's "Who's on First" (which has only been succesfully recreated by Slappy The Squirrel and Skippy on the Woodstock episode of Animaniacs)

2. A match in th middle of logging country where the spotted owl is in jeapordy. Or...

3. The return of Jim Niedhart.

Given the WWF's track record, I am seriosuly afraid now.

The Holidays will make Jericho's title reign seem that much more imprtant...Yeah right Jericho looks like the weakest champ EVER. I'm not a Jericho mark, but I'm down for a change.

The Big Bossman punches like a lil' biatch.

Stephanie = TRASH.

They made a semi-big deal about Flair arriving late to the arena due to the "important business" he had to take care of.
I wonder where they'll go with that?

I imagine they'd refer to it if Nash comes in on Monday, or drop it entirely if he doesn't. I think I mentioned that in the epic chat like ten minutes before you came in.

And I concur with you on the assertion of Stephanie as TRASH.

Watching Smackdown with SAP on makes it more fun. No Lawler, and plus they refer to it as Lucha Libre.

Well, I went drinking.

I watched my tape, though. TOTAL throwaway show for me. Rock-Jericho at the Rumble AGAIN? Oy.

I laughed my ass off during Austin's promo and Rock's promo.

Show getting killed by the Undertaker was kind of a waste. Maybe his waiting for that young rookie, Kevin whathisname? to come in so he can put him over and make a big star out of him.

I'm the one who did the CRZ is Walking sign. (I was holding up a 2F sign in the opening shot and a few other signs as the night went on.) When I saw the original, I just couldn't resist.

Sounds like the show is getting negative reviews; it was terrific live, but I guess the atmosphere makes anything seem terrific. I'll agree What? is getting annoying, particularly since the crowd never times it properly and CONSTANTLY chants it. But Woo! is getting up there too on the annoyance level... it was hard to hear the promos with all the chants going around.

A friend who was helping me hold up the signs got a good shot of Taker actually selling a move. I told him it was a rare and beautiful moment.

I only caught the second half of the show, but nothing seemed to happen there except another Tajiri loss.

I like Rock but I really didn't like that interview. When he's got nothing to do - and I don't think he's had anything to do in more than a year now - he's got nothing to focus on and the interviews go nowhere. The part with the wire was funny, but he needs direction. They all need direction. It seems like everyone is running in place until the dispute-uh.

The outcome of the main was obvious. I like both Booker and Jericho a lot, but they'd be nuts to try that as a main event, even for the one PPV that doesn't really depend on a singles main event to sell itself. That said, is there anyway to make them ban the spot where someone, usually Vince, breaks up a count by grabbing the ref's foot and trying to pull him out? Vince did it yet again during one of Rock's near-falls on Booker. I absolutley hate that and I swear they do it once a show. It has to be the most overrused and annoying thing they do in matches.

Maybe because Benoit hasn't consistently been Rock or UT's job bitch? Also, those finishes came so quick into the match that EVERYONE knew the matches were going to continue.
