Sal Pal just reported on ESPN Radio that the Eagles have won the arbitration case. The 4 game suspension stays in place and they also have the right to inactive him for the rest of the season.
I think Newsday was the culprit there - they printed that the suspension was expected to be dropped to 1-2 games, and then one of the wire services picked it up as "Newsday reports..." and it went from there. Naturally, that story's been pulled (but it was still showing as a Google News result a few minutes ago).
I'm disappointed in this ruling. I was hoping the arbitrator would determine that the Eagles would have to play Owens, and then Andy Reid would honor that decision by making Owens play gunner on special teams.

Nah, even better. Make him the No. 1 punt returner. Then tell the other 10 guys to just fall flat on the ground when the ball's snapped.
