Bully Ray is back, picking up from where he left off last summer. Calfzilla had a lot of unfinished business when he departed. The Beatdown Clan and Lashley have unfinished business with him. The entire Spud/Ethan feud was driven by ECIII feeling upset about them not being able to prevent Ray from putting Dixie through a table, so I expect ECIII to vent about Ray being back as well.
1. Ethan Carter III (w/copious amounts of help from Tyrus) defeated Mr. Anderson in a falls count anywhere match.
Conspiracy theorist MVP went off on a political rant that somehow made me interested in watching a match featuring The Rising. He is also upset about Homicide's mysterious injury. Good for him!
2. Drew (w/ his minions) defeated MVP (w/ Kenny King and Low Ki) Afterwards Eric Young helped The Beatdown Clan beatdown The Rising. EY wants help during the main event.
Creepy James Storm gave Mickie James a personalized guitar, Magnus his old "Brutus Magnus" helmet, and gave Micky/Magnus's son some baby outfit. Magnus finally smashed the guitar over Storm.
Gail Kim is apparently married to some TV chef. Taryn Terrell showed up to hang out with Gail's stepdaughters. It remains unclear whether Taryn is trying to emulate Storm, or D'Angelo Dinero. Storm's creepiness is more timely, but the hanging out with the kids thing was more Dinero's calling card.
3. The Dollhouse (Taryn Terrell, Jade, and Marti-Bell) defeated Gail Kim and Awesome Kong in a handicap match.
The Tag Team Titles are cursed. Over the past couple of months the Wolves won the belts, vacated them due to injury, the Hardyz won the belts in a mini-tournament, and now the Hardyz vacate them due to injury.
Thankfully, the Dirty Heels have reunited and intend to put a stop to the streak of injury-vacating. They will wrestle The Wolves (who are back from injury already) in a best-of-five series to crown new champions.
Drew then had a bromance moment with Matt, trying to convince Matt to stay despite Jeff's latest injury.
Speaking of bromance, Angelina Love refused to comment on the breakup of the Bro-Mans. Velvet Sky returned from her FoF Firing, back in her goth mode, to beatdown Love.
4. Kurt Angle (c) (w/ The Rising and Chris Melendez) defeated Eric Young (w/ The Beatdown Clan) via submission in a match with Bully Ray as Special Referee
Melendez's presence made sense, since he has an ongoing issue with The Beatdown Clan.
This show was a great start to the Billy Corgan booking regime.
Bully Ray looked in even worse shape than he did at the Royal Rumble. He says it is a one shot deal and I hope he's telling the truth cause I see him not having anything left to do in TNA and no need feuds or in Eric Young's case no appealing new feuds.
So MVP using the n word and Magnus dropping an f bomb, oh so edgy. I don't care about the Rising or the Beat Down Clan or their never ending feud.
Gail and Kong on the same side is weird and I would have kept Kong heel and Taryn face.
Main Event was underwhelming and Angle should just wrestle once in a blue moon and be a star attraction not be wrestling weekly at 46.
Dirty Heels Vs Wolves best of five should be fun, but I can't help thinking that Roode and Aries should move on from TNA as they have little to nothing to do.
I have heard this segment was staged ahead of time. It wouldn't surprise me either way because Randy Orton does not have the best reputation outside of the ring.
