I'm sure you've all heard by now how he'll be wearing #91 this season in honor of Dennis Rodman. But wait! There's more....!

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/basketball/nba/10/14/artest.qanda/index.html

Among other things:

- He signed a 78-year-old country singer to his record label, Tru Warier.
- He signed an endorsement deal with LA Gear (were British Knights and K-Swiss not returning his calls?)

Fantastic.

Which is REALLY goofy because the last time I checked, Dennis Rodman is still alive.

    Fantastic.

The Derrick Coleman and Lloyd Daniels model BK's ruled.

Ralph Sampson's Pro Keds also were quite tough.

On the issue of Artest wearing #91, I know how "in vogue" it is to submit that as evidence that Ron's not altogether there. I suppose it's inconvenient to remember that for the last two seasons, Artest wore #23 in honor of Michael Jordan, and has in fact expressed his wish to honor several members of the Bulls championship teams.

Or, maybe he gets some cash from every NEW Artest Jersey sold.

Either that, or he is working up to the Luc Longley tribute we all dream about ourselves.

We need to speed up the process to where we get to the part where he pays tribute to Jack Haley as soon as possible, just so someone can point out that he's paying tribute to Jack Haley.

In case you missed it... http://www.nba.com/suns/news/porter_080609.html I like him. I hope he does well. Then again, it's the Suns, so he'll probably do well but not TOO well...
