For the sake of clarity, I'm putting together a fancy WrestleMania XXI Preview Thread. Yep. WRESTLEMANIA XXI LIVE Sunday April 3rd, 2005 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California
Commentary by Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler (RAW), Michael Cole & Tazz (Smackdown) and Carlos Cabrera & Hugo Savinovich (en espanol). Ring announcing by Howard Finkle (RAW) & Tony Chimel (Smackdown). [7th Mania for Ross/Lawler as a team. 9th overall for JR, 11th for Lawler. 3rd Mania for Cole/Tazz team, 4th overall for Cole. 6th Mania for Carlos y Hugo. 3rd Mania for Chimel, 21st for Finkle.]
CONFIRMED: World Heavyweight Championship Match: TRIPLE H [Greenwich, CT; 6'4", 260 lbs; 10th Mania (5-4)] vs. BATISTA [Washington, DC; 6'5", 317 lbs; 2nd Mania (1-0)] BACKGROUND: Triple H aligned with Ric Flair in September 2002. Batista debuted on RAW in October of that year and aligned himself with Flair (and HHH). Randy Orton joined the group in January 2004 and Evolution was born. The foursome dominated the WWE for awhile, but turned on Orton when he won the World Title in August 2004. Orton later told Batista that Triple H would turn on him too, once he became a threat. Batista stayed loyal to HHH...but a turn was teased during the build-up to Survivor Series when it was revealed to us (on the November 8th RAW) that he wanted the World Title. He got his chance at New Year's Revolution, dominating the Elimination Chamber but getting eliminated when Triple H let him get pinned by Randy Orton, then took advantage of Batista's attack on Orton to regain the World Title. Batista won the Royal Rumble and got a choice of who to face at WrestleMania. After weeks of conniving and deception by Triple H, "The Animal" chose to face him at WrestleMania XXI and finally turned on Evolution. Triple H claims that Batista is disloyal and wouldn't be anywhere if not for him. Batista's aiming to become "The Man" and has to beat Triple H to do just that. At WrestleMania XXI, the Animal will be unleashed. Can Triple H survive his protege's challenge, or will it be Game Over?
WWE Heavyweight Championship Match: JOHN "BRADSHAW" LAYFIELD [New York, NY; 6'6", 290 lbs; 7th Mania (1-5)] vs. JOHN CENA [West Newbury, MA; 6'1", 240 lbs; 2nd Mania (1-0)] BACKGROUND: Layfield won the WWE Title in June 2004. Ever since, he's managed to retain his title by hook or crook, typically with help from his Cabinet (The Basham Brothers & Orlando Jordan). On the flip side, John Cena has been just about unstoppable during the last year. He was a fighting US Champion for just about the entire year, never losing the title cleanly and regaining it quickly the two times he lost it during 2004. Cena nearly won the Royal Rumble, but was eliminated last by Batista. Nevertheless, Cena won the tournament for the WrestleMania WWE Title Shot and drew the ire of JBL and his Cabinet. After delivering a heated promo on why he hates Cena, JBL helped Jordan win Cena's US Title on the March 3rd Smackdown. They're polar opposites: an evil cowboy stockbroker and a sassy white rapper. The only thing they have in common is their desire to be WWE Champion. At WrestleMania XXI, something's got to give.
Interpromotional Match: KURT ANGLE [Pittsburgh, PA; 6'2", 220 lbs; 6th Mania (2-3)] vs. SHAWN MICHAELS [San Antonio, TX; 6'1", 225 lbs; 12th Mania (5-6)] BACKGROUND: Shawn Michaels eliminated Kurt Angle from the Royal Rumble. Angle got mad, snuck back into the Rumble, eliminated Michaels, and beat the hell out of him. A few weeks later, Michaels realized (during a conversation with Randy Orton) that he had no WrestleMania plans, so he told visiting Smackdown GM Theodore Long to relay a challenge to Kurt Angle. Angle recieved the challenge on Smackdown, then attacked Michaels on the following edition of RAW following Michaels' victory over Edge. Then Michaels showed up on Smackdown and attacked Angle. On the March 7th RAW, Kurt Angle claimed that if he had gone to the WWE instead of the Olympics in 1996, he would've shattered HBK's records. Instead, he feels his Olympic achievements were overshadowed by HBK. Now it's payback time. Angle has pledged to do everything Michaels has done in his 16 year career over the 4 weeks preceding WrestleMania, then cap that off with a victory over the Heartbreak Kid. Has Angle finally bitten off more than he can chew?
Money in the Bank Ladder Match: CHRIS JERICHO [Manhasset, NY; 6', 231 lbs; 6th Mania (2-3)] vs. CHRIS BENOIT [Atlanta, GA; 5'11", 220 lbs; 5th Mania (2-2)] vs. CHRISTIAN [Toronto, ONT; 6'2", 235 lbs; 5th Mania (3-1)] vs. SHELTON BENJAMIN [Orangeburg, SC; 6'2", 245 lbs; 3rd Mania (1-1)] vs. EDGE [Toronto, ONT; 6'5", 240 lbs; 4th Mania (3-0)] vs. KANE [Parts Unknown; 7', 320 lbs; 7th Mania (3-3)] BACKGROUND: Six men with a desire to be World Heavyweight Champion. Five former Intercontinental Champions and the current one. Three former World Champions. All wanting a shot at becoming World Heavyweight Champion. All they have to do is climb a ladder and grab the briefcase suspended above the ring. The winner recieves a title shot anytime during the next year.
Legend vs. Legend Killer Interpromotional Match: THE UNDERTAKER [Death Valley, CA; 6'10", 328 lbs; 13th Mania (12-0)] vs. RANDY ORTON [St. Louis, MO; 6'4", 245 lbs; 2nd Mania (1-0)] BACKGROUND: The Undertaker debuted in 1990 and is undefeated at WrestleMania, having beaten such legends as King Kong Bundy, Jimmy Snuka, Triple H, Jake Roberts & Ric Flair. Randy Orton debuted in 2002 and made a name for himself on RAW as a self-styled "Legend Killer" after attacks on folks like Shawn Michaels, Sgt. Slaughter, Rob Van Dam, Cactus Jack and Harley Race. Since his explusion from Evolution in August, Orton has been adrift. He believes he can find his way again and cement his legendary status at WrestleMania XXI by going after the biggest WrestleMania Legend of them all, the undefeated Undertaker. Can the Legend Killer add another name to his victim list, or will the Phenom make Orton rest in peace?
WWE Women's Championship Match TRISH STRATUS [Toronto, ONT; 5'4", 120 lbs; 3rd Mania (1-1)] vs. CHRISTY HEMME [Temecula, CA; 5'5", 115 lbs; 1st Mania] BACKGROUND: Trish Stratus is one of the best women's wrestlers in WWE history. Since turning heel at WrestleMania XX, she's been pretty much unbeatable. Nobody can stop her...except for maybe Lita. Problem is...Lita's injured. But that won't stop her from training Diva Search winner (and Playboy covergirl) Christy Hemme in her attempt to dethrone Trish and capture the Women's Championship.
WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match CHAVO GUERRERO [El Paso, TX; 5'9", 210 lbs] vs. PAUL LONDON [Austin, TX; 5'10", 205 lbs] BACKGROUND: Paul London is awesome. Since debuting on Smackdown in 2003, London's impressed fans with his ringwork and style. London took part in his first Royal Rumble Match in 2005 and made a quick impact before being eliminated in impressive fashion by RAW's Gene Snitsky. Shrugging that off, London got a Cruiserweight Title shot at No Way Out as part of the 6-man Gauntlet Match and beat 4 others before being cheated out of the title by Chavo Guerrero. London believes he deserve a title shot, a shot he will recieve after winning a #1 contender's match taped for the March 12th edition of Velocity. Can Chavo cheat his way to victory once again, or will Paul London finally become Cruiserweight Champion?
Sumo Match BIG SHOW [Tampa, FL; 7'; 470 lbs; 6th Mania (0-5)] vs. AKEBONO [Honolulu, HI; 6'8", 484 lbs; 1st Mania] BACKGROUND: The Big Show is big. Akebono is big. Big Show was WWE Champion. Akebono is the first America-born yokozuna (sumo champion). They had a staredown when Smackdown was in Japan because each one of them thinks they're the biggest (and best) athlete in the world. How a sumo match will solve that dispute, nobody knows.

In the spirt of WrestleMania, I've prpared a video for the weiners on the history of all 20 WrestleManias and a preview of WrestleMania 21, it's nearly 6 mins long and is less then 5mb (low quality) so anyone can view it, hope you guys enjoy it.
Yeah it's a watermark, can't be too careful these days, I thought it wasen't that noticeable and didn't take too much from the video. Thanks for the feedback. I may post it better quality if feedback increases.
Copy this link location from this page. Click on it and get the "No Remote linking" page. Then, paste the link in to the page and download it.
Tripod looks at their referrals and blocks access if you are coming from somewhere other than Tripod. They don't appear to check to see if you are coming from the Remote Linking forbidden page, though
//EDIT: OK, well, I downloaded it last night like that, but now I can't do it again. I think it is broken, sorry.

Originally posted by Big DYeah awesome video hhhgamewmx7 also anyone have ideas what Jericho's ladder match will be about?
Its quite simple. The writers can't come up with a good storyline for any of the participants in it, so they just dump them all in one big, giant, career-shortening spotfest.

Yeah just wondering if it would be for the IC championship or not. Kind of hoping it isn't since it's an obvious step down for about half of the superstars in the match. Damn writers!!
Sorry about the link, when I try to log in to tripod now it says there is a database error so it's out of my hands. Thanks again for the feedback, I have afew more videos up my sleve so keep your eyes open, don't know if CRZ would allow a thread on videos that i could keep updated.

Really. 2 of the guys already had major neck surgeries, and another (Christian) had to take a bunch of time off last year due to a bad back. On top of that, 1 of the guys walked out of last year's WM as the World Champ and is now a directionless midcarder, and the IC Title looks to be going undefended (what a way to build up Shelton & the belt!).

Did you know that every time you post a sig picture with "weinerboard" in it, you're demonstrating that you can't spell?

Put me in the camp who believes he would have been gold behind the announce table. Couldn't be any worse than Lawler. He could be the guest third man on one of the announce teams for the PPVs...
