Fill out your brackets by July 13th! Click Here (challonge.com)
Housekeeping: No betting, pride only. Use the same username you use here. If it's taken, come up with something similar enough to be recognized.
IMPORTANT: I MIXED UP JASON LEE & ARIYA DAIVARI & CAN'T EDIT. READ "ARIYA DAIVARI" AS "JASON LEE" AND "JASON LEE" AS "ARIYA DAIVARI."
If you know the first-round spoilers already, consider yourself honor-bound to purposefully pick against 1/4 of the results you know in the bracket (I feel like many of the first-rounders are no-brainers if you've watched the Network's hype show for this, so I don't want to make it half).
Rules: Points progress linearly (1 each for correct first round predictions, 2 each for correct second round predictions, 3 each for correct third round predictions, etc.)
Also put your prediction for the final in the thread - my prediction: Swann over Gallagher. Two bonus points for each random prediction - swerves & the like - you come up with (up to three). They must be decently specific, and name a specific person (so not "there will be a heel turn" but "the Rock will turn heel in the final match"). Make your predictions in this thread, not where you fill out the bracket.
This being WWE & not actual sports, it's a pretty safe bet the bracket will not proceed the neat & tidy way your March Madness bracket does. Judgement calls at my discretion throughout, although in the interest of fairness (I have a bracket also), I will say you can appeal any judgement call to CRZ, who has the final say.
EDIT: My random predictions. 1) Alejandro Saez will not make weight & be replaced. 2) Johny Gargano will beat Tommaso Chiampa, Chiampa will heel turn on him & cost him his next match. 3) The Vaudevillains make an appearance during a Jack Gallagher match.
-Your brackets don't match the official ones I linked to in the other thread.
-No tiebreaker?
-The random prediction thing is interesting I guess. Given how the whole thing has been presented so far, you think it might feature storylines and non-clean finishes?
Weigh-ins took place, video of which was widely distributed by WWE.
Okay, I put one up. My pick is TJ Perkins over Zack Sabre Jr. in the final. Perkins just came off unbelievably TV-ready in his interview segment. I can really see him replacing Finn Balor as the "heart" of NXT over the next year.
Bonus Predictions:
1)Kendrick goes up to Kota Ibushi, and loses in a very dramatic fashion, leading to an official "retirement" of a guy that's technically already mostly a behind-the-scenes guy anyway
2)Ciampa teases a heel-turn, but in the end the Indy Guys stick together, with a handshake and a hug post match.
3)The final match is the only contest on on the show it airs on, and goes for the better part of an hour, but we get at least one other match in the tournament that does the same thing.
I also took TJ Perkins over Zack Saber Jr. to win it all. I can't believe that guys wrestled under a mask and never said a word when he was in TNA. I have never seen such a well-spoken wrestler.
other random predictions:
1. GM Regal and Tajiri have some sort of hilarious interaction hearkening back to their old team up days.
2. Rich Swann and TJ Perkins have a *****~! match- match of the tourney!
Hmmm... that is pretty bad, but for some reason, hearing the song for this year's WrestleMania makes me wanna lay down and breathe into a paper bag. Is it bad if I think that last year's choice for the WM song is better than this years'?
