I’m just here to knock down some cobwebs and might air out the place a little so it’s ready for all of us when Twitter goes under.

I'll probably be more active here when Twitter dies as well.

I would always think when browsing here the last few years (or decade? sheesh!) about how Twitter killed the message board. I still remember learning here the lesson of not feeding trolls which (For me, anyway) carried over very well to twitter.

I still can't believe how rapidly Elon is strangling that site.

I kinda feel the same way. Twitter really kind of made this place not matter.

I'm looking to set up a Mastodon server over the weekend. I have the domains and server acquired. Let's see if I still can do any tech...

I feel like I have so much to say philosophically on the species/social media/twitter/musk phenomena and yet simultaneously nothing noteworthy to say.

So a perfect metaphor for Twitter I reckon!

For me anyway, Twitter has been circling the drain for a while. Elon might just be speeding it up though!

Maybe there's life in the old dog yet and the site can serve as more than a record of petrol prices over time?

ETA: LOL, nearly 20 years on this site and still haven't cracked 1000 posts! As opposed to ~13k tweets over 15 years. All super intelligent and worthwhile too, definitely
