DID YOU KNOW THAT...
To the best of my knowledge, the last time a Stanley Cup winning team was eliminated in the first round the next year was in 1990, when the then-defending champion Calgary Flames were beaten in the first round by the Los Angeles Kings.
If this is wrong, please correct me.

In 1996 the New Jersey Devils didn't even make the playoffs. Not loosing in the 1st round, but still.

In 1989, Wayne Gretzky and the Los Angeles Kings eliminated the Oilers in the first round after the Oilers had won the Cup (with Wayne) the year before.

That means the Kings beat the defending champs in the first round two years in a row, because they beat Calgary (who won the Cup in 89) in 1990.

Go Kings! Damn losers.

It's hockey, isn't it?

I absolutely sympathize with Heatley here, but... He did break the law by recklessly disobeying the speed limit, and that offense cost another person his life. Unfortunately, I think he deserves some jail time here.
