I want to explain the reasoning behind my avatar there.

If my prayers are answered and HHH comes back as a face (and STAYS a face... not that teased crap they pulled twice before) - for some reason, I see him teaming up with the Rock taking the tag belts off the Dudleys. (Yeah, yeah, Hunter is an awesome heel, but I want a legit reason to cheer the guy now. )

I mean the past few years, we've had a few instances of hated rivals "burying the hatchet" and teaming up to become the Tag Team Champs:

1) The Rock & Sock Connection (Rock/Mankind)
2) The Canadian Chrises (Benoit/Jericho)
3) The Brothers of Destruction (UT/Kane)
4) The 2-Man Power Trip (Austin/HHH)
5) hell... even Rock & Jericho were the Tag Champs not too long ago.

So, having noticed this trend, which present rivalry has more history to it than The Rock vs. HHH. These guys have been feuding pretty much since Rock set foot in the WWF 5 years ago.

I wouldn't mind having the two team up for a little while. Can't put the belts on the Acolytes since Faarooq hardly wrestles anymore. And you definitely can't put them on the WWF's Ambiguously Gay Duo ("Ace" Gunn/"Gary" Palumbo). In addition, the Hardys and E&C are both dead. So, with a virtually non-existant tag team scene, why not have a SuperTeam so they can get people to CARE about the belts again - before they job it to an actual team.

Just my take - but I think it's pretty plausible. I'm predicting The Rock & HHH will become The People's Game and win Tag Team Gold.

How can you want a HHH-Rock tag team. Kawshen, let me take out a dictionary and show you the word continuity. When last seen HHH was still the main heel in the WWF. Austin was his do boy, an Arn Anderson type cronie if you will. As I remember when HHH was last on tv he was putting over Jericho and Beniot like only a top shelf heel like H can.

If memory serves, the raw before said smackdown when HHH put over the Canadian Chrises, H was in the ring with Austin beating the living Fuck out of Rocky. So now you want H to come out in his grand return and become The Rocks best friend. If anything H should come back as a Heel to take on the face Steve Austin.

The way I see it is Vince has the perfect oppurtunity here to form a H-Jericho team. If H comes back as a Face then there is no doubt in my mind that he will take the belt off of Jericho very quickly. That leaves us with three faces and one heel (no the Undertaker doesn't count).

Say what you want about Kawshen's logic there (and I would, but I'm tired), you cannot deny the power of the HAND OF THE BOOKERMAN.

Um, Esco. . . if my memory serves me correct, Austin and HHH were trying to kill each other for a year and a half and then Austin became HHH's crony as you said. Is that the continuity that you speak of?

You know what mo? That's a very good point that you brought up. I know continuity isn't the fed's specialty.

Wouldn't it be fuckin cool though if they started using continuity NOW. I mean you gotta start somewhere and now could be the perfect time.

Eh, who am I kidding. If Austin can team with H after each attempted vehicular homocide on eachother than why can't H join forces with Rocky.

A totally other way to go would be to actually have genuine tag teams competing for the tag team titles. Personally I can't stand the tag matches and handicap matches using all "name" wrestlers.

I think the tag ranks would be an ideal place for guys like Storm to get recognition. Use the teams as a place to bring back injured/"injured" wrestlers. Use them any other way than the way they are being misused at the moment.

Rock, HHH, Austin etc have no use for the Tag titles. Why not just give us 2 quality singles matches instead of 1 average at best tag match?

I have to agree w/ the "No super teams" philosophy. If you want to boost the tag scene, build actual teams, not throw 2 main eventers together who have no use for the titles.

It's kind of tough to build up a tag team division when you're spending your time breaking up already established tag teams... that's when the need for superteams like Austin & HHH and Rock 'N Sock become necessary. I'd be totally down with Rock & HHH teaming in the tag ranks as long as two things happened...

1) Their focus would be ENTIRELY on the tag titles. (Part of the reason the Chrises' push went to hell was because Triple H's injury forced both of them to chase Austin, leaving the tag titles to waste.)

2) It leads to Rock's heel turn.

You're all wrong boys.

For one, HHH will be back in PANTS, not trunks. Ever notice that big ugly scar on his knee now? Hmm?

As such, HHH and Rock would be wholly implausible due to the fact that the Rock wears trunks and HHH wears Pants.

However, HHH's return is going to be big.

Very big.

Nash, Steiner, and Rey Jr., three very big names on the WWF's list, just got out of their Time/Warner contracts. What's to stop HHH from bringing these three in?

(Aside from the fact that they'd suck the heat off of HHH faster than a $2 BJ.)

HHH works best ALONE. Hell, even when he brought back the heelish DX, he usually did his fighting and promos alone, unless it was one of his devious plans to use one of his underlings to help him score a big win.

Nash and Steiner could never be underlings.

Nor could the Rock. In fact, the only guy who I could trust having any kind of chemistry with HHH would be Foley. And that's only because I'm a Foley mark and HHH would be going up, not down.

I like the idea of him showing up and saying "I DISPUTE-AH", as stated by somebody else here, to Jericho's title reign. Give Jericho somebody to fight up until Wrestlemania, when he Jobs the belts and we get HHH/Rock, HHH/Austin or Rock/Austin (Say what you will, but even if it's overplayed, those are the only options I see as the Main Event at WrestleMania.)

I agree with no "superteams" idea. I'd rather see HHH fighting for a singles belt as opposed to a tag title. Also, you saw how well the HHH/Austin v Taker/Kane feud went last spring. Not very well although that was followed up with a superb HHH/Austin v Jericho/Benoit feud which could have lasted longer had HHH's injury not happened. Eh, let's just put some good actual teams out there and let them fight over the tag straps.

If Nash does come back it is almost a given that Rey Mysterio would have to come back just so they could do anothert Human Lawn Dart segment.....of course, UT has already done that with all three members of Team X-treme....

I'm against the "Superteams" too, but right now I think it is the best way to go. Right now, the Dudley's have no competition. Some other teams need to be elevated, but the Dudleys can't do that w/o jobbing the belts to unwirthy tag teams. So, my solution:

1)Dudleys lose belts to two singles wrestlers (any two).
2)Dudleys feud with some other team and lose.
3)Dudleys win belts back.

This enables the Dudleys to job without the winning team having to take the belts, it will further some other storyline (as is always the case when two singles wrestlers win tag titles together), and gives the Dudleys a feud to return to against a team that has a chance against them.

My choices for teams to use:
1)Impact Players reunite
2)Hollys
3)APA

I like these teams because they have a history of teamingf together, and have a reason to team. Teams like Scotty 2 Hotty/Albert and Gun/Palumbo just scream of being thrown together because the Fed desperately needs a team. I realize Farooq is nearing the end and is hurt most of the time, but I think they have a goodrun in them. I'm not to fond of Justin Credible, but it would give Lance Storm something to do and is a team when the WWF need them most.

Crash Holly ruins Hardcore everytime dammit! You want a real tag team? Kurt Angle and Lance Storm. Those 2 would be classic as a full-time team (well for a couple of months). Kurt still needs to add a Tag Title reign to his resume and then when they split, the matches would rule.

And I think you're fat. So how do you like me now?

I don't like the Storm/Angle team becaus eI just don't think Angle would fit in in any tag team. As for Crash, I bet Bob Holly would rather be on TV with Crash than not on TV at all. Because he's done SO much as a singles wrestler since his feud over the Hardcore title with Al Snow. Granted, he has been hurt a lot, but I think teaming with someone (Crash or otherwise) is his best chance at getting a push at this point.

Has anyone thought about having everyone's favorite comedy tag team, Kaientai, win the belts? I think that would be sweet.

How many guys are actually on the WWF roster? A billion or so? How many of these guys actually get ANY TV time? Even if you only have 1 Tag match per show you get exposure for 8-12 guys. Use the lower guys or developmental guys to fill the Tag ranks. Maven for example could benefit from more TV exposure and more in ring time. People don't have to be into it right away, at worst it provides a break between the marquee names, at best you expose potential "new" talent to the audience.

Superteams NEVER work... What we need is more brother teams... Here's my ideal tag division:

-Dudley Boyz
-Kaientai
-Island Boyz
-Fightin' Holly Cousins
-Spike Dudley and random partner of the month
-Ambiguously Gay Gunn & Palumbo
-The Impact Players Redux
-The Minnesota Stretchin' Crew

This returns the Tag Division to it's roots, where people with nothing better to do go (Dudleyz/Hollys/etc) and those who have little to no TV experience get some (Island Boyz/Minnesota Stretchin' Crew).

Superteams ruin that coolness, because the average fan goes "Hey, it's Rock...but why in the name of all that is holy is he a Tag Champion? Why? Why God, why?!!" At least with Foley and random partner of the month, people were all "Hey, it's the sock guy! And he's got a belt! And a friend! Yay!"
