On "Around the Horn" tomorrow, Bob Ryan will make his first appearance since his suspension last month after his comments about Mrs. Kidd.
Speaking of "Around the Horn", TJ Simers, the guy from the LA Times, hasn't been on for weeks. I think his last "Around The Horn" appearance was after Ryan's suspension. Simers was the only panelist who criticized Ryan. Maybe that's why he's not on.
"Oh my God, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits! It says, 'Oooooo!'" Peter Griffin "Peter, those are Cheerios." Brian
Simers was quoted in another paper as saying he didn't like (more like "hate") Around the Horn and was only doing it to help pay for his daughter's wedding. They've apparently decided not to bring him back after that.
I saw Ryan on the Sports Reporters last Sunday. It might be his first appearance on Around the Horn, but he's been on ESPN already. The suspension issue did not come up with Lupica as guest host with Mitch Albom as one of the other guests. It appeared just like any other sports reporters show.
He's Rolie Polie Olie - and in his world of curves and curls, he's the swellest kid around.
I caught Ryan on ESPN radio this morning and he was shoveling "Jason Kidd is the greatest player ever - just like Magic Johnson" bullshit, and he was left speechless when Dan Le Batard pointed out that Kidd can't lead a fast break against a Spurs team that is pretty much slower than molasses. Not sure if the ass kissing was a round about way of apologizing (or if the topic of Kidd's wife was brought up before or after - doubtful), I turned the channel when he started ranting on Tiger's "slump". At any rate, it's nice to have Ryan back - his style of idiocy is hard to replace. (and Lord knows there are enough of that type on Sports Radio /TV)

Demonstrations are a drag. Besides, we're much too high...

Ah. What he'd do to compensate for his daughter marrying the Grocery Store Bagger. =)
Yeah, Simers has often commented how he doesn't like Around the Horn at all. He's also one of the few reasons to read the L.A. Times Sports Section at all. =)
As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless, uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?
Ryan has been on Tony's radio show twice and was on with LeBatard this morning. every one has treated it as "business" as normal.
although, on Tony's show, Ryan said someone should be hit with a 2x4 and tony's like "bobby, maybe you shouldn't say that." and he laughed and ryan laughed and they went on.
