The Following Schools still have a shot to play in the BCS.
ARKANSAS Arkansas still has an opportunity to "win" the SEC West(Since Alabama is on probation they cannot participate in the title game). This puts Arkansas in the SEC Title Game and one win away.
TEXAS TECH If the Red Raiders beat Oklahoma(at Oklahoma which is a challenge in and of itself) Tech would go to Houston to play Colorado in the Big 12 title game.
UCLA UCLA has a chance to finish the Pac-10 schedule 6-2 and in a tie with Washington State and USC. Since if they do that they will have beaten both WSU and USC, they win the tiebreaker to go to the Rose Bowl.
WEST VIRGINIA It's a big if, but still quite possible. IF Miami were to somehow lose the next two weeks to both Syracuse and Virginia Tech and IF West Virginia beats Pittsburgh next week, WVA wins the title outright.
If West Virginia somehow manages to pull off the Big East, it will be a miracle. That one's not happening.
Arkansas might pull it off, though - they own the tiebreaker over Auburn, and would own it over LSU if they win. 2 of LSU's 3 losses have come on the road (only one that hasn't was the asskicking they got courtesy of 'Bama), and Arkansas is 5-2 at home. If the game was at LSU, I'd say Arkansas has close to no chance. Since it's not, however, there's a possibility.
Unfortunately, they'd play Georgia. See, that's why they have conference championship games - so surprise teams don't normally get into the BCS. If Texas Tech can pull it off against Oklahoma, I'd be very impressed. I don't think it's happening, though. Oklahoma's too good of a team to let it happen. They should go to the BCS.
Your UCLA situation is contingent on Washington St. losing to Washington. While I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying it's unlikely. Wazu is quite good, to say the least.
If Texas Tech plays like they did last week against Texas and beats Oklahoma, then beat Colorado they would be 10-4, losing to Iowa St, NC State, Ohio St and Colorado.
They would have won their last 5, 3 over ranked teams. They would be deserving in my book.
---------- And the real wonder of the world is that we don't jump too ----------

Agreed: but it is a rivalry game and lots of unpredicatable stuff always happens then...

and that's why i LUV rivarly week....
i mean, look at "The Play"
they are STILL in denial over that, and even printed a phoney school paper to mess with the other school...
Wrestling has been rhyming with ass. I miss shows and it makes me all shades of ambivalence. WWE is starting to suck again. The crops? Jeezum Spice! Someone stole my crops. What in the ham fat is going on. That's just poo-doo! That's just my 2.4856 Yen.
As much as I'd LIKE to throw the BCS into chaos, I hope it doesn't.
And that's just on Ohio State winning tomorrow. Am I a homer for 'em?? Damn right. Will they beat Michigan? God, I hope so. As for Miami, they looked pretty weak against Pitt (no ball control, Pitt had almost 2x the offensive plays, and they still really didn't defend the run all that well) and that doesn't bode well for games against Syracuse in the dome and what I have to imagine is a very angry VaTech team.
But, in the end, I think we'll have two unbeatens and the system will work. And it has to - it's not like there will ever be a playoff.
I have to agree that the West Virginia is nearly impossible. And while Arkansas still has a chance at the SEC West (and i picked them at the beginning of the year, go me!) I doubt they can beat Georgia. HOWEVER, I wouldn't completely count out Texas Tech over Oklahoma, and if they can beat Oklahoma I don't see why they can't beat Colorado in the Big 12 Championship. And then you can hand the Heisman trophy over to Kingsbury. But since nobody seems to want the Heisman trophy this year he'll probably bomb against Oklahoma.
As for UCLA, you never know what could happen in that game, but USC looks awfully good right now.
Of course living in Alabama, all i'm hearing about this week is the Auburn/Alabama game. Bama should demolish them (and I hope they do) but again, it's one of those games where you never know what's going to happen.
