No real spoilers, but a fun video with the characters telling what they did during the summer.

Ryan: "I don't remember much about Scranton. I think I dated a black girl." Priceless.

One thing that ought to be fun for the coming season you can glean from this is

That line had me laughing out loud. Had to pause it to catch the rest of the video.

I'm really surprised Karen is going to be back. I figured they'd have some little scene in the first episode where she quits or something.

Poor Stanley, still there for another year.

Lloyd: When I met Mary, I got that old fashioned romantic feeling, where I'd do anything to bone her.
Harry: That's a special feeling.

Ditto. And there isnt even anyone else in the office for her to move on to. AWKWARD!

Also, Pam looks a little beefier than she was last we saw her. Still hot though.

Also, THROW MAMA FROM THE TAMBIEN.

Well, you do tend to put on a little weight while lying around recovering from a broken back. I didn't notice a difference, though.

New Ryan is going to be DAWESOME.

I predict many nights of little sleep ahead, as I try to plow through all of season 3 DVD rentals between 9/4 & 9/27!

With the magic of DVR, this and a couple of good beers will be my Thursday night routine.

I had no idea the first 4 episodes are going to be an hour long. Excellent.

The promise of hour-long episodes to start the season makes the month-long wait a little more bearable.

This reminds me. Local news bumper ads have been advertising "The Office Convention" (theofficeconvention.com) in Scranton. The specificity of the details would make Dunder Mifflin proud. ;)

Aw, in somewhat related news, there went my backup plan if the DVR fails to record The Office(as it did twice last season):

http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2007/08/31itunes.html

NBC shows won't be on iTunes this coming season. So annoying. It was nice to get them on the iPod for trips or lunch break. Bleh.

If it true that NBC wanted Apple to charge $4.99 an episode, then good for Apple for sticking to their guns. Frankly, I think the $1.99 price was a little steep, especially considering the DRM limitations.

The press release doesn't mention other NBC Universal networks. I wonder if the price increase only applies to NBC shows, or will USA and Sci-Fi shows be disappearing as well?

I was fine with the $1.99 price because I think when I added it up before the cost to buy the season was about the same as buying the DVD season so it seemed fair. Not sure why NBC thinks they should be able to charge more for downloading them than buying them on DVD now.

There's an associated benefit with getting the episodes right away as compared to waiting until the season has been over for a couple of months to get the episodes on DVD. That's why NBC thinks the iTunes downloads should cost more.

Personally I feel that despite that benefit, the cost per episode from iTunes should be FAR less than the cost per episode on DVD. There's a huge difference between being able to watch the episodes on any TV screen or monitor that accepts input from a DVD player and being forced to watch the episodes on a (relatively) tiny iPod screen. But if people are willing to pay for it..

Eh, I've also got AppleTV so I don't always have to watch on the tiny screen. Though yeah the picture isn't close to DVD quality.

Ryan looked way strung out in his clip, unshaved, looked like he'd pulled an allnighter, maybe the pressures of bein a higher up are gettin to him.

Karen's "Jim dumped my ass by a fountain in New York" was too funny.
