Lots of upheaval behind the scenes at Dunder Mifflin Sabre Scranton. Paul "Toby" Lieberstein is stepping down as Showrunner (shar.es) to shift his focus to the Dwight spinoff The Farm. Plus the article notes no deals are set yet for John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer and Ed Helms to return for season 9. And we know James Spader is out. Plus Mindy Kaling could also be leaving if her FOX show gets picked up for the fall.

Ed Helms has also joined Mindy Kaling's pilot.

Maybe "The Office" will continue as a show about the office itself, with no people in it.

END THIS SHOW

"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." --- Bart Giamatti, on baseball

He's set to guest star in the pilot, but isn't on as a regular.

I like this idea. Just the Homer Simpson doll, the copier, and the vending machine in the Annex.

Dwight minus Jim equals fail.

Sadly, I agree this once amazing show needs a mercy killing.
They tried to make a go of it, but this show without Michael Scott is like trying to continue Seinfeld without Jerry.

Is Kathy no longer at DM? Was that ever shown? Her little plot was the only thing I cared about this season.

I liked this one a lot. I love this show's own brand of humor, which is defined by the oddness of the characters. The multi-way phone conversations were hilarious. "How many lines do you people have???
