Pam and Dwight stuck in an elevator is enough plot for a full episode. Michael hiring his deadbeat nephew as an intern is enough plot for a full episode. Cram them both into one, however, and it felt like both stories got the big short-shrift.
I was going to start this thread and then... I didn't.
The second act conference room scene ending with the spanking was vintage Office. Don't Don't Bother Luke. "That [God] argument is tight!" "I'm just saying, why does God get to do something that I don't." (That line is instantly immortal to me.)
Gabe is dating Erin! Now, I need anger management classes.
"We need to establish a pee corner!"
"I love cinema. My favorite films are Citizen Kane and Boondock Saints." I hate Luke too.
I turned it off right after the lip-sync. I can't do it anymore. The humor seems way too forced. I don't care about any of the characters anymore. I'm just done. Thank God there's still 30 Rock and Community.
Am I in Horseville? Because I'm hearing nothing but naysayers!

I kind of wanted to, but I'm glad I stuck around. Seemed like a return to simpler and better days, plotwise, after such a disquieting beginning. Michael has done a stupid thing but at least it's confined to the realm of the office and is a relatable workplace kind of thing. Luke was nicely drawn, up there with the high schoolers from Community last year. Plus I really like Erin and I really like Gabe so I like that whole deal.

I did think the opening was a bit much, but the rest of the episode was solid. I don't care about Jim and Pam much anymore, but Pam does get hotter each season, so it's a wash. Favorite exchange: "I love him" "Oh God. How far has it gone?"
King of Keith, you will be missed. I guess.
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

I loathed Gabe last season. That said, I think the Erin story is the perfect thing to do use him for. Between that and the height jokes, I was finally sold on him.
I really don't get the hate for the opening. It was cute.
I'd forgotten Erin/Andy broke up, love that her & Gabe's relationship is based on sexual harassment. About time the show got a new opener, other than adding Helms it's been the same since day 1.
This thread just got Pam'd. (They don't call me the Bart Simpson of The W for nothing.)
Thread ahead: The Cleveland Show 2x1 "Harder, Better, Faster, Browner" Next thread: "Bill & Ted" to return for a third movie Previous thread: Outsourced 1x1 "Pilot"
Looks like John Cusack will be playing a hitman. And the article talks about him being typecast in the Lloyd Dobler role? Didn't anyone see Grosse Pointe Blank?
