I dont know why but when I was a kid I cheered him like a babyface. I had his old rubber LJN action figure and played with it so much his face ended up looking like the sphinx. In recent years, his podcast and YouTube interviews were always must listen/see and his HOF speech is one of my favorites of all time. I just looked up his hilarious promo outtake where he almost kills a turkey the other day. Its pure gold. He was truly one of the oddest men I know of in the history of the business, but he is certainly going to be missed. RIP
I honestly didn't watch or care about him as a kid. Was not into WWF when he was there. As far as Sheik's go, my favorite was the OG Sheik and Abdullah .
As a kid I got into wrestling at the time of Hogan's title win. The way they hyped the Sheik I thought he was a huge threat to the fabric of society and everything and Hogan's win saved the world. He played the role so well. Later I loved him in his team with Volkov.
I loved being at WM17 and seeing him waddle and win. I enjoyed his HOF speech (Kurt Angle knows!) it was hilarious but felt sincere. The guy was a character but seemed to legit love the business and everything around it. He knew how to work people, a classic Old school carny. Lots of highlights in his life, lots of low points but he reached a good age. May he rest in peace.
I was very sad to read about this. His heyday was before my wrestling time(like some people I got into wrestling hardcore in 1987), but I really enjoyed his more recent reinvention in the Aughts. He was quite a figure in and out of the ring. RIP, Sheiky baby.

They ignore Tyson Kidd for months, and then give him a win over Jack Swagger to get into the Money in the Bank match, followed by a win on Monday against Tensai? Weird. But Kidd, of course, is super-talented and deserves a push.
