I take my hats off to the Detroit Pistons. There's certainly no shame in losing to not only the greatest team in the NBA, but the greatest team in the NBA.
But... dammit. I would've loved to see Reggie go out this year with an NBA Championship. I'll tell ya one thing, I'd like us to trade Artest in the offseason (I think it's been proven that he's expendable, anyway), because if we win the title next year, I'd rather not have the guy who was (arguably) ultimately responsible for Reggie retiring ringless going on to win a championship with us.
Or maybe this is the incident that will finally get Artest to straighten up and fly right. And hell, I defended his behavior right up until the moment he jumped into the stands in Auburn Hills. Kinda feel like I should've seen it coming.
In any event, we'll be going into next season with a large chip on our shoulder, and some well-deserved respect from the rest of the league for how far we got in the playoffs despite all the adversity we suffered. Hopefully Jermaine and Jamaal will be healthy, and Stephen will continue to do as well as he's been doing.
So, congratulations to my team, the Indiana Pacers, for a remarkable season under the circumstances, and here's hoping we'll raise that trophy over our heads next year.
And to Reggie Miller, congratulations on a spectacular 18-year Hall of Fame career. Your #31 will go up in the rafters next year, and it's well-deserved.

God bless the men of 2nd Bn, 127th Inf, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army Nat'l Guard...good luck, and come home soon.
Watching the end of Detroit/Indiana Gm 6, the first thing I thought of is "Damn, I bet ekedolphin's on the old emotional roller-coaster right now."
Major props to Larry Brown for calling a timeout and getting the entire Pistons squad to come out w/ him and applaud Reggie on the court. What a show of respect that was, especially considering November's events, for a future Hall of Famer. (Whoa, did I just agree w/ Bill Walton?)
Congrats, Reggie...and thanks.
Now go Pistons.

It was definitely difficult to root against Reggie. The guy mixed class with a fierce competitiveness that made you hate him when he played against your favorite team and root for him when he played against anyone else.
Fantastic to see one of the few players left who had a strong attachment to his city be acknowledged by his fans well after the outcome of the game had been decided. Pistons could've been up 30 and everyone still would've been there.
I think the Pacers can be really strong next year, provided Artest a)gets his act together, or b)leaves town. It was just nice to see that there were no incidents in the series. Hopefully, the Brawl will be pushed aside by the media beginning next season.
For those that don’t know, the Tiger Mask character was based on a Japanese cartoon, so Misawa stepping out of that and becoming the best wrestler in his country would be kind of like Chris Benoit doing a Darkwing Duck gimmick and then becoming the Chris Benoit we all mark over. - AWC
For everyone who has been bashing Layden..they fail to see his master plan...LEBRON JAMES!!!!!! He knew that by destroying our salary cap, trading for 90 points guards and not having anyone over 7 feet tall would ensure failure for the next five years!
