Okay, forgive me for asking ... what is the deal with the briefcase that the Bossman raised? I watched WWF during that era, but that angle escapes me.

Austin and Vince/Shane had a ladder match where a briefcase, instead of a title belt, was hanging above the ring. Nobody from the Corporation could interfere in the match, and The Big Boss Man left the Corporation before the PPV. During the match, when Austin was climbing the ladder, the briefcase was raised by someone backstage controlling the raising/lowering thingy it was hooked to. No such tomfoolery occured when Vince and Shane went for the briefcase, and they won the match. The next night the Boss Man rejoined the Corporation.

Perhaps, but many of the guys they dropped really were dead weight. Chuck Palumbo and Rodney Mack had nothing going for them. I agree that this was a problem they created, and no Gangrel isn't going to singlehandedly turn business around, but he's depth. And even if you don't want to do anything with him but job him out and have him be the lowest guy on the totem pole, that just bumps guys like Val Venis or Stevie Richards one notch higher. I can't be the only one who thinks it's a terrible waste every time The Hurricane gets to play the squash victim simply because they don't have anyone lower in the pecking order to do it.

What I meant was that if you bring in a handful of guys like this, who may not be superstars but at least have some name recognition (which the Palumbo's and Mack's never had), it gives you more to work with. Maybe you don't have to squash Helms every few weeks and can afford to - dare I say - have him win some matches and maybe rebound his character. It couldn't hurt to try.

Bring Back Mack. I want to back the MAck. He'd put Viscera in his place.

In that case, watch All Japan Pro Wrestling. All 3 of those guys are there and being decently pushed as the Voodoo Murders. D'Lo Brown, Bull Buchanan & Jamal are there as well. Rico did a run for a few weeks before retired (primarily there to replace D'Lo as part of TAKA Michinoku's R,O, & D stable due to D'Lo being in the UK taping a television show.)

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Uh....can anyone say Vicera??? Although they both ended up as jobbers, (largly in part to the "Ministry" take over) both have/had charisma.

Its hard to see them back in the lime light, but it may work.

I think Gangrel should take Scotty 2 Hotty and Shannon Moore under his wing. Shannon's a great follower and there's nobody in WWE who needs a makeover more desperately than Scotty. And if he got all Lovecrafty and started doing the Wyrm...well, okay, even I'd think it was lame, but I'd probably get a laugh out of it at least.

When your peer group is the freak show at a carnival, you really need to be someone sort of insane to be Crazy Steve. (Or you have to be a 'normal' guy be conventional standards! Crazy Steve filing his income taxes.
