That sucks. I know he wasn't a great wrestler but he was fun to watch and had an entertaining presence about him. I doubt he would have been a main eventer but what I thought he would be is what Big E is right now and Big E is one of my favorites.

Wrestlingdata.com lists Ezekiel's last match at WWE Axxess. WWE Axxess 2013! And that was his only recorded match of 2013. He hasn't been really used since summer 2012. His wikipedia mentions very unspecific injuries, so maybe WWE was just keeping him around while he healed up (and if they happening to think of an idea of for him.) But, like Sin Cara I, there probably was a moment where they could've justifiably let him go and moved on and they instead just waited for the contract to run out. Which probably means...

knows exactly what day he's done with WWE, because it's whatever day they wrote in his contract. As do the Curt Hawkins of the world who are never used.

And maybe CM Punk too? He's on "sabbatical" until his contract runs out because WWE has decided to never cut people for some mysterious reason? Maybe WWE is a magical place where you can't actually get fired as a wrestler any more (outside of a third strike drug issue)? I hope someone tests that theory out!

When did WWE stop doing the 90-days thing?

After Eddie lost the title, I pretty much stopped watching wrestling for half a decade. One of the things that made me start watching again was a wwECW segment where William Regal announced that him, Ryder, Kozlov, and Ezekiel Jackson were going to take on Christian in a handicap match. The idea of Christian in such a centerpiece underdog hero role was good enough to rekindle my interest in the sport. So, I will always remember Christian and Ezekiel fondly for that moment.

It is a shame that Ezekiel got injured so soon after winning the ECW title, since that hiatus sapped a lot of his momentum. (One of Jackson's numerous injury absences) I was pissed when he won it, because of how it was never reunified with the Spinner Belt. However, I grudgingly acknowledged that it felt in line with the spirit of ECW - using its last spark of prestige to try to get one more guy over. I hope Jarrett books us a Rhino/Jackson match ASAP.

90 days is if you're released before your contract expires. Apparently no one gets released. Kaitlyn might have when she requested it? Or she just let it expire, I don't know.

The Peak of Zeke: 6th century BC. I was there!

Did anyone bet on Zeke being the least successful member of the Corre, a collection of equals?

The only viable babyface midcarder I can see going for it next would be RVD. He'll need something to make him look significant after getting buried in his feud with Kane. After that, you've got your Randy Ortons and Chris Jerichos to go after the title.
