WWE confirms Mike Tyson will be inducted into the "celebrity wing" of the Hall of Fame! (vids.wwe.com)

WWE.com feature article (wwe.com)

This Hall of Fame is loaded. You can't really question why Tyson belongs. His appearances leading into and at WrestleMania 14 helped launch the Attitude Era and had a big hand in saving the WWF from bankruptcy, helping turn the corner into their eventual victory in the Monday Night Wars.

Who should induct Mike Tyson? Cold Stone! Cold Stone!

If it's not Austin, they have to get Glass Joe to do it.

Really no reason not to have a convicted rapist inducted.

That didn't stop the International Boxing Hall of Fame from inducting Mike Tyson on the first ballot. And that was an actual election by people who considered that, not Vince McMahon trying to agree to a contract to get him to appear.

Tyson has done a lot to rehabilitate his image of late. He has gone from the most controversial figure in sports to your silly uncle. The Hangover has helped him a lot in that regard and if its good enough for the Boxing HOF to put him in as a first ballot which actually has a building and cred than its ok for the WWE to do it. Also if you haven't seen his Herman Cain from the Funny or Die debate, fricking hysterical.

You only get to say that if you also have a problem with (almost definitely) murders being inducted too.

I guess I just find it surprising, given Linda McMahon's political aspirations.

You're fooling yourself if you believe it.

Bummer to hear...but at least they're keeping a quality guy employed, and I'm assuming if he wanted to go elsewhere and wrestle, they'd give him that opportunity...
