Ladies and gentlemen, the following public service message is brought to you by your friends from D-Generation X, who would like to remind each and every one of you that if you're not down with that, we've got two words for you... I'm trying to find a pretty specific product to add onto the new computer I had my folks buy a few months ago, but repeated Google searches and prayers to lesser-known deities have so far proven unsuccessful, so I'd just thought I'd reach out here and see if anyone knows of what I'm looking for before I give up the search as fruitless.
I'm looking for:
- Combination USB 2.0/Firewire card (the computer needs both additional USB ports on the back as well as Firewire ports it doesn't have so my folks can do video capture with their existing miniDV camcorder) - Runs on PCI Express interface (the computer has no PCI expansion slots) - Is low-profile or can be converted to low-profile (the computer is slim-case based)
I've been able to find low-profile PCI Express cards with either USB or Firewire, but not one with both.
smark/net attack Advisory System Status is: Elevated (Holds; June 18, 2006) While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future.

Why don't you opt for the Firewire card and just use a (powered or not) hub to increase your USB ports?
That's my backup plan. I'd just prefer to have the combo card because I've had issues in the past with USB hubs working reliably with other machines (random bluescreens, dropping of signals, etc.).

This article is about 3 years old it looks like, but it should cover most of the areas you are looking at. http://arstechnica.com/guide/flatpanel/flatpanels-1.html As for individual monitors, I'm not sure where to look for info on these.
