Those who have read my RAW is Montreal column, and thank you, thank you very much, know that I took exception to a column by Tanya aka hardygrrl in which Tanya ran an obcsure reference contest. Only the quote obscure unquote reference turned out to be a Simpsons reference which IMHO is ultra lame.

For those who don't want to hunt for the references and read my entire column, and SHAME ON YOU, I say, here are the six references:

#1: “a word for forgetting the name of someone when you want to introduce them to someone else at the same time you realize you’ve forgotten the name of the person you’re introducing them to as well.”

#2: I was upset enough at the appearance of Bischoff to turn off the TV, and go stalk into the meadow and commit mass genocide on a perfectly harmless dandelion patch, scaring the beegezus out of Hodge-Podge in the process.

#3: You mean that I could have been sending in IWS recaps and When We Were Marks columns ALL THE TIME, ALL THE TIME, ALL THE TIME?

#4: By the way, where does the term “balls nasty” come from?

#5: what the French refer to as “les incompetents”

#6: Triple H left and did his Inspector Porfiry, “Just one more thing...”

The last one by the way is a bit of a trick question as it is an easy reference to a work of literature and simultaneously a slightly more obscure reference to a tv show.

#5 is from Home Alone. I believe it was one of Kevin's sisters taunting him openly. #6 is from "Columbo."

EDIT: There is no "m" in "alone."

Why do I watch? Because every episode has the potential to be the best one ever, and I'll be DAMNED if I'm gonna miss that one after sitting through this shit.

I'm probably wrong, but I vaguely recall "Balls Nasty" as something from The Dark Knight Returns...

Is #1 a Douglas Adams "The Meaning of Liff" reference?

Not EVEN close. (Except possibly that the writers are both from England, but that's it.)

Isn't #1 a reference to the story arc from Sandman where Dream and Delirium are looking for Destruction?

If I had to venture a guess, number 1 strongly reminds me of something that Rincewind, the Discworld's most incompetent wizard, once said. It's also good to see that people still remember the classics of cartoondom he says, as he rescues the stuffed Opus from the clutches of the 2 year old.

This show was originally scheduled for January 22, but due to a huge snowstorm in the area was postponed until tonight. To make up for the show being delayed, IWA added two matches to the card: Samoa Joe v.
