Is there a place where people usually get the Q'n'D results?
Meh.
Randy Orton def. WWE Champion Sheamus (Disqualification)
World Heavyweight Champion Kane def. Rey Mysterio
Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston (No Contest)
Big Show def. The Straight Edge Society (3-on-1 Handicap Match)
Melina def. Alicia Fox (New Divas Champion)
Team WWE def. The Nexus (Elimination Tag Team Match)
I was only able to watch the elimination match, which I enjoyed quite a bit. IMHO you can tell who the WWE is high on within the Nexus based on their performances;
- Darren Young gone in less than a minute thanks to Daniel Bryan.
- Tarver gone without doing anything of note.
- Otunga lasted mid-way but didn't do anything of note except for screwing up the Walls of Jericho.
- Sheffield took out two guys and needed chair shots, a codebreaker, plus a spear to be taken out.
- Slater took out two guys and made it to the final three before being taken out by Daniel Bryan.
- Gabriel was the second last one to be eliminated.
- Barrett we already know they are high on.
Oh, and although not a member of the Nexus, Daniel Bryan eliminated two people (one in less than a minute), held his own 3vs1 (while Cena was on the outside), and was only eliminated thanks to the Miz.
Smart use of Bret, and his elimination was effective because it set up the start of Sheffield's elimination (which Striker mentioned later) without having him take a move.
Speaking of Striker, I liked him on commentary. Smart and enthusiastic, the energy he had was infectious sometimes. “GO FOR THE CATTLE MUTILATION, TURN HIM OVER!” was a nice touch, and his arguing with Cole about Miz/Bryan was excellent.
Speaking of Miz, I wouldn't be shocked if Bryan takes him out and costs him the briefcase. Or maybe they just feud. Either way, it should be solid. The Miz is a great case study of someone with an ego, and so long as he carries himself in this fashion I think the fans will always be satisfied when he takes a tumble.
Has R-Truth been using the Osaka Stunner (or a variation thereof) for awhile? Because the move looked SICK and could easily be someone's finisher.
Like I said above, a good match which I was entertained by. I'm interested in how they plan on following this up tomorrow on Raw.

The Phils/Mets game was on the TV next to Summerslam at the restaurant/bar we watched it at...and Jayson Werth was up to bat when Edge was in the ring, which was very surreal.
Congrats to Fantasy Bookers...Daniel Bryan returns after all. And goes right back in to a feud with his mortal enemy/mentor, the Miz, who was indeed awesome.
Didn't need two non-finishes in title matches...but I did enjoy the Sheamus/Orton match...the Champ's 2nd run with the belt has been leaps and bounds better than his first. And everyone could see the Taker and Ye Ole Gimmicked Casket coming a mile away.
Where does the Nexus go from here?

Why in the fuck did WWE.com spoil the Danielson surprise? Unreal retardation.
A one-match show but that match really delivered, I thought.
The main event had real heat that you don't typically see in WWE short of Michaels/Undertaker. They laid it out quite nicely and helped the Nexus guys through it. Jericho was an awesome babyface and looked awesome running through his old Y2J offense. Then he was a great heel again. "YOU'RE A STUPID MAN."
What a tremendous Daniel Bryan showcase in the main event of SummerSlam makes him and the company even now, I think. That made my internet heart soar. I would've liked it better if he was a double agent and turned on Cena and spit on him again, but so be it. Bryan/Miz at Night o' the Champions.
The big negative is who won, though. I mean, it was an epic battle but of all the times, this was not the night for Cena to overcome the odds. I would've guaranteed Nexus winning that match. I would've bet my all-important BOARD REP on it.
Really they could've had a much, much better undercard if they felt like it but I guess they didn't care. That finish in Orton/Sheamus just doesn't fly on PPV. It's a shame(ful thing, lost your head) too, that had built into a hot finish and then fzzzzzzzt.
Rey/Kane was pretty good for a Kane match. It was a new twist to have Undertaker come back still semi-comatose instead of the unstoppable returning Phenom, I guess.
An interesting choice to book Ziggler/Kofi as the fake hot opener and then not have that match either. I would've rather seen real matches with Christian/Rhodes/Hardy/McIntyre/Swagger to this undercard of timekillers. Oh well.
Where does the Nexus go from here?
Wade should fire some of the bottom rung guys who got bounced fast tonight. Then when they go to the NXT2 finale, the remaining Nexus guys should join up with Kaval, McGillicuty, Riley, and Husky and destroy the show. Nation of Domination 2.0. WWE Management says "hmm, maybe we should learn a lesson on this. Hmm."

please explain
Sorry. About 10 minutes before Daniel Bryan was announced on the show, WWE.com had a story up about his return - about Cena choosing him over Miz. Bryan's bio was also put back on the Raw Superstar page.
WWE.com had an article revealing the return of Daniel Bryan about an hour before Daniel Bryan actually returned. Oh well.
Originally posted by a few days ago There is no reason to expect Bryan to be the 7th man except it would be really neat. Things don't happen just because they're neat.
Huh. I guess it was neat.
Though Cole's anti-Daniels act has completely past it's expatriation date.
Perhaps they assumed that the people who paid for a PPV were actually watching the PPV instead of surfing the Internet, thus not qualifying it as a spoiler.

Seems more likely that someone f'd up with the timing of publishing the article. I wouldn't be surprised if someone got fired over this, although it would probably be some no-name underling or intern and not Joey Styles or someone else on that level.
What DID surprise me was that they chose Daniel Bryan. IWC folks and the like are obviously happy, but I just didn't get the impression he was all that over when he got the boot. At least not over enough to get all this build up. He was essentially the focal point of what's traditionally the #2 PPV of the year. Pretty nice!
I do recall the "Daniel Bryan" chants that seemed to be in every arena for a couple of weeks after his disappearance, so maybe I'm just underestimating his popularity. I didn't watch the show: what was the crowd reaction like when he was revealed as the 7th man?
The crowd went nuts for Bryan's two big offensive flurries at the beginning and end of the match (those were the only two times he was in), I think in part because it stood out from every one else in the match because he was really fired up and intense and doing some unique moves, and in other part because WWE Big 3 PPVs are usually super-hardcore fans.
BTW! If I was Cena, I'd be way more mad at my teammate Bret than my teammates Edge and Jericho. At least they battled their hearts out until they lost. Bret forgot the rules of his lifelong profession. Thanks, Bret.
I enjoyed the main event, loved seeing the (Bryan) Daniel(son) Bryan return, but I do not get the ending. Unless somehow Cena winning is what finally brings the GM out in the open it makes little sense otherwise.
Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket - though it was a hell of a basket. You guys think that this show isn't getting panned enough for its undercard decisions due to the return of Bryan?
I was a little disappointed in Summerslam being essentially a one-match show. I thought Dolph/Kofi and SES/Big Show got shafted due to a variety of reasons, and Orton/Sheamus got cut off just when it was getting going. That match was rather slow and methodical but I think it does show that these guys can build a match - the crowd was eating up the finishing sequence before the lame DQ.
Note to Alicia Fox: when the opponent is just returning from a leg injury, is noticeably rusty, and even hobbling a bit, attack the damn leg! It was fun to hear the commentary team justifying the shoulder work.
A bit off-topic - I came across the Summerslam poster (en.wikipedia.org), and it's just bit weird to see the people on it. Undertaker is prominently featured, though he's not scheduled on the card. Jack Swagger is on there and he was not scheduled to be a part of the card at all. There is no sign of Kane, the reigning champ. No Nexus either. Does it always work this way, or did they just mess up?

No one really cared much when Daniel Bryan was introduced (don't they remember when he pinned Santino on Raw?!), but he quickly won over the crowd with his great great moves. Sorry, people who think he isn't good!
Without the aid of commentary, I didn't really get the idea that Undertaker was supposed to still be selling effects of the vegetative state. It seemed kinda weird.
Big pop (from me) for Laycool.
Everything else was, y'know.

I can also confirm that at no point during the show did Eve Torres surf.
I'm really glad for Daniel Bryan. Great to see him back and still stunned that he indeed was the 7th man. I hoped for it, but wasn't sure if they would do it. I now can't wait for his match with The Miz.
I like the idea of Wade Barrett getting rid of Young, Otunga and Tarver to replace them with Harris, Mc Guillicutty and Reiley. Kaval should stay on his own nonetheless, which could be achieved by him simply winning NXT2.
Off topic: Did Jerry Lawler really say "Superslam" in the first few minutes of the show? That has to top "Summerfest"! Lawler gets worse everytime I see him. Maybe he should finally join his buddy JR and retire?

Most of that promotional stuff is planned months or weeks in advance.

That's nothing: Triple H and The Undertaker were two of the guys (along with Rey Mysterio and John Cena) featured on promotional 7-Eleven Slurpee cups.
Nice to see Daniel Bryan back, even if his return was more than a little predictable.

Ever since halfway through the first NXT season, Michael Cole has just become absolutely insufferable. He was an obnoxious announcer before, but he's single-handedly ruining every segment with Miz at this point and it's becoming borderline criminal, considering how amazing Miz has been these last few months. It's like Cole's TRYING to get me to hit the mute button with his constant verbal blowing.
Man, was this ever a one-match show. I don't know why they wasted their time with Kofi/Dolph. The title matches were boring, though I blame the crowd for some of that. Big Show/SES felt like a waste. If the main event wasn't so great, this would be an easy thumbs down.
I'm not angry about Cena's Superman comeback, because quite frankly, I've just gotten used to it. And like Justin said, they've planted the seeds for the Season 2 NXT'ers to turn on management anyway. Second verse, same as the first.
This really depresses me for some reason. Not sure why... I was never a particularly big fan. I guess just because he was over no matter what he did, which is rare at any time and especially right now.
