I missed the first half, but here were the results

- MVP over Hardy via pin

- Phoenix and Santino over Kofi and Mickie via Phoenix pin on Mickie

- HBK retires with wife by his side, Jericho comes down and misses a punch on Michaels but hits his wife. Sounded good.

- Matt Hardy over Mark Henry via DQ in what sounded like the ripoff match of the year

- CM Punk over JBL via pin. JBL took a nasty fall in this one landing on Punk's head in a roundhouse kick spot. It was a good match, but nothing memorable. Nice to see CM Punk contine his reign with a clean pin.

- HHH over Khali via pin. Khali dominated this match, and it was smartly done. I give big props for Tazz in this one as he put over Khali's offense and reasoning bigtime. The finish was weak with Helmsley hitting the kick, wham Pedigree out of nowhere. Crowd liked it though.

- Batista over Cena via pin. 75% of the crowd was behind Batista in this one. It was better than I thought it would be. Cena has lost a lot this year, but they never seem to hurt him so I liked them giving this one to Batista clean. The crowd was red hot making this match a lot more fun.

- Undertaker over Edge via pin. People who wanted to see a suicidal highspot will probably shit on this match, but the match told a good story. Edge pulled out all the stops with weaponry and really controlled most of the match. Undertaker got pissed at the end and used all of Edge's tricks against him which was kind of cool.

The two biggest spots were chokeslams and both came off as the weakest spots. The Chockeslam off the top rope through the tables was the better of the two although it looked more like Edge just jumping on his own. The chokeslam off the ladder through the ring was really weak looking and set up poorly. Taker should have set the ladders up first, but either way there wasn't enough height or force to make that spot look legit.

The match was still top notch and lived up to the hype. It'll be interesting to see where they go with this now. I'd hate to see Edge and Vickie break up since they sold this match without even having Taker on television.

From what I saw it was a solid PPV. I would have liked to have seen the HBK/Y2J showdown.

This was a fantastic show in my mind. Santino's antics ("Enough about my Manscaping") were enough to pacify a poor match there, and other than that the only bad match was the ECW title debacle.

HHH/Khali was better than I expected, and the final two matches were great. The HBK angle worked as the crowd bought it.

The only thing I would have wished for was for Jared from Subway (who was sitting in the front row) to have a sandwich which Santino could have stolen.

I remember feeling ripped off at Matt Hardy's match at SummerSlam '05 against Edge, but this year eclipsed that. Not even Jeff's swanton seemingly landing squarely on Tony Atlas' nuts could save it.

Team Glamarella is covered in gold and I love it.

The Hell in a Cell was very good, the Ladder/chokeslam/Fire spot... less so.

What's going on with Big Show?? He wrestled in a dark match prior to the show and Smackdown seems to have interest in using him for anything right now..

Is he hurt or they just are going to use him very sparingly these days??????

Shouldn't be any DQ's on WWE's second biggest show of the year.

As much as we Americans hate Khali, Khali is way over in Europe and Asia. That's why he is getting the pushes.

JBL really needs to be Raw GM. He can sure work a crowd and a microphone but is physically a mess with a bad back and who knows what else...

Okay show... nothing great, no Orton.

He has no program because he was feuding with Umaga but he got hurt.

I thought the show was really good. The two main events were real strong and Punk and JBL worked surprisingly well together. Cena needs to win an important match. Jericho PUNCHED HER IN THE FACE. I am really excited about the Hardys vs. four black people feud.

1. MVP d. Jeff Hardy -- Good match. Not as good as I expected, but good. Hopefully leads to a Jeff Hardy/Shelton Benjamin US Title feud which could lead to some great matches (although it could also lead to some god-awful acting).

2. Beth Phoenix & Santino Marella d. Kofi Kingston & Mickie James -- Fine match. Santino has improved in the ring. Not great, but he doesn't suck anymore. And my GOD, is he awesome. The post match celebrating with Beth Phoenix was gold.

Shawn Michaels/Chris Jericho segment was tremendous. Poor Rebecca, taking one for the team. Stiff punch, leading to a swollen lip, but it made for great television.

3. Matt Hardy d. Mark Henry via DQ in about 30 seconds. Well, it was a non-match. Not sure where all the "what a ripoff" replies are coming from, though. As if anyone; 1) Paid to see this match, or; 2) Actually had any desire to see Matt Hardy vs. Mark Henry. Better off being 30 seconds, and giving more time to the main matches.

4. CM Punk d. JBL. Really good match. Good to see Punk finally getting a clean win over a big star. Of course, tomorrow's RAW is from Chicago, and WWE likes jobbing guys in their home cities, so JBL's World Title reign may still be around the corner.

5. Triple H d. Great Khali. About as good a match as could be expected. It was carefully booked, Hunter did his best to carry it, and Khali worked about as hard as he physically can. Not great, not good, but fine. Not sure where they can go with Khali now, as he lost clean as a sheet here.

6. Batista d. John Cena. Really good match. Somewhat surprising finish, mostly because Cena has been doing a lot of PPV jobs lately. Wouldn't be surprised to see them main-event another PPV, and one where they can go on last and get more time.

7. Undertaker d. Edge in Hell in a Cell. GREAT match. Really, this was what took the show from thumbs in the middle to thumbs solidly up. Actually, this was the best Hell in a Cell match they've done in YEARS, and one of the best ever. The post-match stuff was a little lame (mostly due to the long and convoluted spots in order to get the referee in the ring to steady the ladders). But the match was excellent.

Very good PPV. The undercard was underwhelming, but the main-events all delivered.

I don't know about that. I don't know anybody that wants to see Mark Henry and I doubt Matt could get a good match out of him. But you're talking about one of the Hardy Boyz, who are over like crazy, getting a World Title shot. There are plenty of people who want to see Matt wrestle anybody, and the fact that it was a World Title match made it even bigger.

So where does Jericho go from here? If he loses to Michaels, then his "transformation" was all for nothing.

Michaels should put him over clean to end this feud. It would cement the new Jericho as the top heel on RAW for a long time.

Can someone do a title by title comparison of the 2 please, I'd love to see how close they are in terms of various reigns.

HHH Vs Khali reminded me of old-school Hogan vs Giant of the month.

JBL is done.

And god Maria and Jillian were smokin last night.

In WWE alone (unfair to compare WCW and AWA title reigns):

HBK:
* WWF Championship (3 times)
* WWF European Championship (1 time)
* WWF Intercontinental Championship (3 times)
* WWF/E World Tag Team Championship (4 times) – with Diesel (2), Stone Cold Steve Austin (1), and John Cena (1)
* World Heavyweight Championship (1 time)
* Royal Rumble (1995)
* Royal Rumble (1996)
* First Grand Slam Champion
* Fourth Triple Crown Champion

Jericho:
* Undisputed Championship (1 time)(first ever)
* WCW World Heavyweight Championship (2 times)(Last)
* WWF European Championship (1 time)
* WWF Hardcore Championship (1 time)
* WWF/E Intercontinental Championship (8 times)
* WWF/E World Tag Team Championship (3 times)- with Chris Benoit (1), The Rock (1), and Christian (1)
* Ninth Triple Crown Champion
* Third Grand Slam Champion

Total title reigns: HBK 12, Jericho 16
HBK edges out Jericho in world titles and tag team titles, but only by one. Jericho beats HBK (and everyone!) in IC titles. They are dead even on European titles.

Also, I can't believe Jericho hasn't held a world title since 2002.

I'm not a big blood guy and I thought HIAC was a great match, but with the storyline those guys had, it really did need to be what we in this industry call a "double juice" with "blade jobs" "getting color." Maybe the new PG direction means no blood though. I think that's the first time they left the Cell since HHH/Jericho in 2002 though, correct me if I'm quite mistaken.

But the whole angle has been about how Jericho will never be as great as Shawn Michaels and how realizing that has caused him to completely abandon all morals and blah blah blah. Jericho has played the perfect heel and part of being the perfect heel means you take your medicine at the end of the feud after you blind a guy and punch his wife in the face. Jericho will retain everything he's gained as a character/interview/actor/wearer of short pants and will be better off for being part of a story with a distinct beginning, middle, and end.

I agree. With a feud this heated and long juice was a must. I believe blood should not be overused to save the impact, but this was one of those times where blood and a lot of it would have really added to what these guys were doing to each other.

Perfectly acceptable show. I can't say it was worth the entire price tag, but it wasn't bad at all.

- Jericho, HBK, Rebecca & Glamarella deserve all the praise they get.

- I really enjoy watching MVP wrestle. I'm a sucker for counters in wrestling, and his style is really fun to watch. He's become a huge favorite of mine ever since his match with Benoit at WM23.

- I can't, however, give much praise to HiaC. I have two reasons for this:

1. I think I'm growing tired of those garbage matches where the first 1/3 is spent searching for weapons and then setting them up for contrived spots. This wouldn't be a problem if they hadn't already done almost every table & ladder spot imaginable over the years. The payoffs during the latter 2/3 of the match weren't worth the wait. I feel they would have been better off maybe recreating some spots from the TLC match, and in that case, the Cell was not only unnecessary, but it was a hindrance.

2. Tazz & (especially) Jim Ross were completely unbearable on commentary. JR spent the entire match trying to create ridiculous soundbites, and stumbling over himself as he did so. And if Tazz had said "in my opinion" one more time, I would have screamed. But JR kept my temper down, because by the end of the match, my friends and I were too busy laughing at him. I don't think I would have noticed it as much if JR was still doing RAW. But after not hearing for nearly two months, he was especially annoying last night.

One thing I am really looking forward to, though, is the aftermath of all this. With Edge out of action, I'm dying to see Vickie regret her decisions after Taker starts terrorizing her.

Man, Edge/Taker was unbelievably awesome. I love matches with storylines that I can get into. The storyline of Edge being a psycho, using his familiar TLC weapons to get an advantage, then Undertaker using everything Edge has done against him on him. Just a fantastic match.

Cena/Batista was good, too. I loved the Tombstone-like counter to the FU and it showed off Cena's strength well. The finish with Batista snapping was awesome.

I really liked this show actually. The opening two matches were solid, the promo with HBk/Jericho was great of course, the three title matches were better than I expected, and the last 2 matches exceeded my expectations.

Easy thumbs up here.
