Also, Sensational and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man are ending and Amazing is switching to a "near-weekly" publishing schedule of three issues per month. "Near weekly" is much better than the "barely monthly" we're getting now.

Is there any reasoning for this besides trying to maintain sales for the Spider-Man line?

It says so right here in the wcw handbook!

Because you can't have one Spidey going around with his wisecracks and another Spidey dishing out vigilante style justice...

One title can just have one personality...

Besides Spiderman 3 hype is over now...

I think it's okay to have titles with different interpretations of a character. They probably just should not be set at the same time.

----------------------------------

from Philly:

Another announcement was a title featuring Jason Todd, Donna Troy and Kyle Rayner visiting the 52 new earths of the new Multiverse born out of the conclusion of "52." The new book will be called "The Challengers of the Beyond," and the first issue will be written by Ron Marz and feature the Multiverse debut of the Wildstorm Universe.

I think this answers the question on the board about people visiting the new Multiverse worlds.
I think the iconic characters (Supes, Bats, WW, Spidey) all have interpretations that make interesting reading.

I guess I was a little unclear. I meant why do they feel the need to go to a "near weekly" printing schedule. Doesn't that make it a little difficult on the creators and of course that means it's going to cost more per month to keep following the book.

The man who gave us a guy wearing an American flag punching out Hitler. I am now a little sad, I didn't get to chance to meet him in Philly when I was running late. He will be missed.
