An update on a story in the current Observer. On the Sting/WWE deal, WWE sent Sting his contract several days ago, but as of yesterday, he had not returned it. The belief is they were on terms and an agreement is in place, but as of yesterday, pen to paper on Sting's side hadn't been returned. There is no indication of any serious hold-up at least from the WWE side. Those in the company even before WrestleMania were working with the impression he was on board.
I think Sting's much less excited about this than people on the internet are.
Sting actually did really well with the GM character for the while he did it in TNA. Face, impossible to intimidate, occasionally whimsical or vengeful just for the fun of it, but also fair if a heel had a grudge and didn't get in his face. Of course, then he inexplicably gave it back to Hogan. Again. Sigh.

Maybe he's just reading the contract before signing it?

A weird tribute to a weird guy from his weird friend.
I've heard this story before, about how they were so broke that was all they could eat. I think that's the extent to which Sting and Warrior actually knew each other when they started out. They didn't seem to know each other for too long and went on their separate paths pretty early in their careers.
It's more always been a cool footnote that the two face-painted guys who won their first world titles in 1990 broke into the business together, than any real friendship between the two.
I really hate to bring it up, but... September 25, 2000. Your WCW world champion: Vince Russo...who would go on to "vacate" the title October 2nd. I don't remember if Russo ever "wrestled" a match again after that. (Source)
