On page 2 they recap the series between the two teams.
I looked all over the net for NFL Team by Team Win/Loss records versus another team and keep coming up empty. You would think the NFL or the Hall of Fame site would something like that, but neither appear to. I'll check my ESPN Almanac tonight, but I doubt its in there. I have every Steelers media guide from 1978 on, so one of the later ones should have something like that in there.

If I lived back in the wild west days, instead of carrying a six-gun in my holster, I'd carry a soldering iron. That way, if some smart-aleck cowboy said something like "Hey, look. He's carrying a soldering iron!" and started laughing, and everybody else started laughing, I could just say, "That's right, it's a soldering iron. The soldering iron of justice." Then everybody would get real quiet and ashamed, because they had made fun of the soldering iron of justice, and I could probably hit them up for a free drink.
According to http://www.ninernews.homestead.com/versus.html , the series is tied at 8-8 which sounds about right. I'd feel more willing to take it as gospel if I could find scores from those games, but alas, I can not.
If you're willing to do a little work, this Google search (google.com)should bring up a set of 15 nflarchives.com pages with all the Steelers/49ers matchups. Geez, I wish my number matched up with his up there... :)

Man I looked on Google for like 45 minutes. Typing in the wrong thing obviously. As always, you da man Zed.
And yeah the All Time series in 9-8 49ers. To me only 17 meetings is a little shocking since both teams have been around for a long time. The Niners have been in the league since 1950 and the Steelers since '33. Hard to believe in 53 years they have only played 17 times.
And Sec19Row53, I knew there was a good Pro Football reference site but I could not remember the name. That one goes to the favorites.

I understand how it came to be, I just find it funny that looking back all the commentators and analysts were wrong in declaring the week 12 matchuip to be the last between the two teams for Favre probably (though they may still be right, but for a differ...
