Nothing against him, but never been a huge Russel Crowe fan. However, I had seen an interview leading up the release of this movie where he talked about planning on taking the Summer off to spend with his kids in Australia, but got this script and immediately had to cancel his plans. Since I'm assuming he doesn't need the money, I had to expect this movie to be good.
And he wasn't lying. Excellent movie. Haven't seen the BBC series this was based on, but would be interested in checking it out to see that too. Excellent work by the entire cast (particularly Crowe), some good *believable* twists and turns, and an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours while I'm traveling for work this week.
Recommended.

As good as this movie is (and it's pretty good), the BBC miniseries is 10X as good. I've watched the miniseries twice, and I love it so much. This is such a great story, and it really benefits from having six hours to unfold over rather than having to be cut down to a theatrical run time. It doesn't help that I have a crush on Kelly Macdonald, either. Love that Scottish brogue.
I can see the concerns, but Grammar's voice is PERFECT for Hank McCoy, and most fighting and stunts will be handled by doubles and CG anyways. Good stuff.
