You have no idea what I felt when I read this. I actually realized that my skin could feel my heart beating through my chest. I've been praying (or close to it) for something like this for months, but I never thought it would be 44 episodes. I was HOPING for something like 13, which was the last rumor.
To be fair though, I have to warn you that if this turns out to be bullshit, I will have to balance out the Karma Scales by having you killed. I know you understand.
Friend of friends, if it doesn't come to fruition, then after getting this up, I'll have little choice but to kill myself. Normally I would try and hang on and wait for official confirmation, but the way Kristen wrote it out so cut & dry, with even a quote from Bateman feeling it, I cannot help but let myself go bonkers.
Well, I'm doing the same here. I haven't stopped smiling since I read that article. I just finished bouncing around the room like Jim Carrey did when he first became "The Mask".
And NOW I have to try to get to sleep for work in a few hours.
This is fantastic news. But I urge caution and restraint.

Okay, seriously, I think I'm in the same boat as MaskedComputerGeek. I've definitely got a tremble of happiness here. To the backyard! To a beer and staring up at the sky and thinking that the stars have aligned just right once more. Bless 'em.

I think you're missing about 300 "E"s in that last "[BLEEP]"
Call me crazy, but doesn't that article say that it's only renewed for one season? Or did I read it wrong?
Originally posted by That Article Arrested Development is coming back! These highly placed sources confirmed late Friday it has been renewed for a full season of 22 episodes. How freaking fantastic is that?
Initially, Fox president Peter Liguori's plan was to order two seasons--hence, the "twins" reference--in order to keep the licensing fee down. But ultimately he went with a single season. And hey, I'll take it.
Good news, but I'll believe it when I see it. This is E! we're talking about here, isn't it? AD fans (myself included) seem to be grasping for straws for legitimate news sources regarding the show.
She has changed it since Thursday. Obviously I'm a sucka for going so gung ho to begin with, but Kristen the Whore really should not have used verbiage like "99% likely" about something as glorious as a two-year renewal. Oh well. As far as grasping at positive straws, no doubt, but like I said earlier, the Bateman quoteage plus the certainty with which she wrote makes this one stand out over the random crap you get from, like, Defamer.

FOX DOES MORE TIME WITH "ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT," ORDERING A FULL THIRD SEASON
FOX gets ARRESTED again. The network has ordered a third full season of the Emmy Award-winning comedy series ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, it was announced today by Peter Liguori, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company.
"ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is one of the best comedies on television. The decision to order another season becomes easy when you consider its amazing cast, creative brilliance, critical acclaim and advertiser appeal," said Liguori. "It's my first official pick-up since taking the job, and I think it's a great way to start."
The critically acclaimed series revolves around Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman), the good son who must run the family business and continue to pick up the pieces as he keeps his offbeat family from falling apart. The comedy has featured guest appearances by numerous stars including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Liza Minnelli, Heather Graham and Ben Stiller. Last year, the show received five Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, Writing, Directing, Casting and Editing. Additionally, Jason Bateman won a Golden Globe for Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role - Musical or Comedy Series and the show was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards for Outstanding Musical or Comedy Series. This past season, the cast was nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. The show was also named an AFI Program of the Year and received the Critics' Choice Award for Best Comedy, among other accolades.
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is produced by Imagine Television and 20th Century Fox Television. Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, David Nevins and Mitch Hurwitz are executive producers.
So last week, my favorite part was Abed's HUD reminding him to record Cougar Town (as should all of you, it's awesome), with second place being the seemingly random listing of cycles. I retroactively declare the cycles as the best part.
