Man, I am still bummed about the Titans's loss ... I actually last night that the Titans kicked a game winning field goal and then woke up ... no joke ...
But my hats off to the Patriots ... they are a great football team and have masterminds for coaches ... Belichick is the MVP of that team ...
But damn, it sure looked a bit chilly there last night.

Well if misery loves company...here I am. Congrats, Iggles....you didn't give up and took advantage of a couple of really, really bad decisions on the Pack's part.
I'm not entirely broken up about this as this post-season has been kind of a gift.
So...now on to the yearly Favre retirement watch.
My pick for the Super Bowl? Indy vs. Philly, we'll see.

I agree with most of this, except there's no way Favre retires so there isn't really a watch, I'm thinking.
I still like the Pats, even if Manning is the only guy left on my fantasy team...but neither the Panthers nor the Eagles has shown me enough to pick EITHER of them over the other. I guess I'll go with the home team?
Peyton Manning makes things look too easy ... if only his defense could back him up a bit better. I'm looking forward to next week's Indy-NE matchup because (as much of a Titans fan as I am) I think that those are the two best AFC teams.

How come Green Bay's coach did not choose to go for it on 4th and inches in the 4th Qtr with around 2:00 min left? Green could have got the first easy and so could Farve on the sneak. I have to question coaching for both the Pack and the lambs yeaterday. What the "F" was Martz thinking??? He does not trust Bluger or Faulk all of a sudden? The lambs gave that game away.
Now I'm for Jake(Breaux Bridge) all the way.
Had to make a spelling correction. Hopefully my error will not be glorified in the banned column.
* not scoring on that fourth down at the end of the first half * somehow allowing a 4th and 26 play that would've ended the game * not running Ahman Green enough * letting Duce Fucking Staley run wild on them * not capitalizing enough on their eight sacks of Kordell...er, Donovan McNabb * retarded penalties seemingly every time they returned a kick or punt * that bizarre interception from Favre in overtime...it was the football equivalent of the Simpsons' escalator to nowhere
It was a game that GB lost, not that Philly won....if they play like that next week, Carolina is going to whip them.
Rob asks Dave and Ric if they want to go backstage to play Hungry Hungry Hippos and Flair and Batista immediately bail. Flair wants to be Green. Man, EVERYBODY wants to be green. Except the girl in the commercials. She wanted to be pink. That either means that the ad agency was sexist or that she was communist. Of course Hungry Hungry Hippos is a rather capitalist game isnt it? No self respecting communist would play Hungry Hungry Hippos. Except Stalin. He LOVED Hungry Hungry Hippos. Green: 25 carries, 156 yards Staley: 5 carries, 45 yards McNabb: 11 carries, 107 yards (an NFL playoff record for a QB, I think)
The rest is dead-on. Jiminy jumping Christmas on a pogo stick...4th & goal, and they blow it when Mike Wahle throws the lookout block (re: makes his block, turns back to Ahman and yells "Lookout!")...4th & 1, and they don't go for it, and blow it...4th & 26, and they let McNabb convert!?
Now is the winter of our discontent.

This loss was Vikings-esque. **sigh**
To quote ET..."Ouch!" but we've got that coming...vindictive fate twists both ways.
And to clarify for Zed...I know Favre's not retiring too, but try and tell that to the local sports media. Every year for the past three seasons, with seeminly nothing else to talk about, the local sports folks go into teeth gnashing mode once the season ends. That's the "watch" to which I was referring.
Anybody else notice that on Pinkston's long pass reception down the sideline (the play imediately before the Eagles 1st TD), that once he got the ball under control, his 2nd foot down was on the sideline. I'm surprised none of the announcers noticed it.

Just like they did at the end of the first? Oh, wait.
Those inches were pretty much a yard and we'd been doing a pretty decent job of stopping them when the chips were down.
All I've been hearing is how unstoppable Green Bay's O was and how bad our D was and that they only lost because they didnt run Green enough.
1. Green Bay took advantage of Vincent's injury to score 2 TD's on an inexperienced Brown in the 1st. After that they, with the unstoppable Green, managed a whopping 3 points in 3 and a half quarters of football against our woeful D.
2. The two rushers with the highest yards per carry were Duce and Donovan who combined had 9 carries less than Green(who also caught his share of passes. Had we run Duce a bit more instead of sticking with Buckhalter you could argue we wouldn't even have needed OT.
3. How many touches can you give Green? The guy had about 30 odd in pretty nasty conditions. He's only human. And incidentally, all of the Packs points came courtesy of huge passing plays.
4. Akers missed a pretty simple field goal that could I've saved us a whole lot of nail-biting.
Bottom line is both teams were pretty ugly last night, but we got through because when big plays were needed, we made them. You would think just once we might get a little bit of respect for winning on prime time.
I think Green Bay overall outplayed Philadephia, and usually when a team outplays someone and loses it falls under major luck for the winning team or ref screw job... I didn't feel either was a major case here. It was just Green Bay losing it, when they had the opportunity to win it. I'm not even as angry as I thought I was going to be, mostly because of Green Bay's incompetent coaching and planning lost the game and deservedly so
4th and goal and going for it. In that situation you kick the field goal, and I know I ripped Martz for not trying to get it in on Saturday, but this is different... GB was leading by 7, you kick a field goal and go up by 10. You make it a two possession game.
They ran Green alot, but could have ran more. Even Devenport was getting 5-yards per carry. That Philly line was not stopping anything. And they ran great, until they get to mid-field and then the Packer game plan changed and started trying to get cute.
4th and 1 at the end of the game in Philly 40 yard line. I don't think kicking the ball there was such a bad idea. If they dont' make it Philly only needed 30 or so yards to be in field goal position instead now they had to go 50-yards (but Jeeze, Bidwell. How about taking some off the ball when you punt to pin them behind the 20 instead of booming it in the endzone). But whatever most of the time I'd think it was a smart move... BUT the thing is during this game the Packers was getting easy 3 yards every time out rushing and the Phily line looked exhausted and running in subs in and out. More chance then not they'd make it and end the game there.
But whatever, the Packers will never win with Sherman as the head coach. Little things you notice of a team, who is just not really in tune or mature enough to win. For example lets look at Indy. Indy/Denver game an Indy player receiver(Harrison I think) made an amazing diving catch & wasn't touched. He was smart enough to get up & run into the endzone... Yesterday game a GB receiver(Walker I think, and it was his only catch of the game) made a great diving catch in red zone & wasn't touch. He gets up & starts trash talking the defense, and they just grabbed him and got him downed. Instead of acting like a pro & know what's going on and get up and run into the endzone, he'd rather act like THE MAN & trash talk because of his one catch of the day. It ended up just being a field goal. I guess it could have been worse he could have spiked the ball at the defenders feet & get called on the fumble.
Another example is the very last play, a field goal in overtime and these guys don't even know the No 2-timeouts in a row rule. And was trying to call another timeout and a few guys didn't even try rushing the line to block it. Just another example of how the team reflects the coach. Sherman is just not a good coach at all. He showed it at the 4th quarter of the KC game, and he shows it here. He doesn't get his team ready for all situations... Don't even get me started on the 4th and 26 coverage The Packers had on that play. Why they had defenders setting back 10 yards when Philly needed 26 at least, I still have no idea.

I take your point, but equally the Eagles could be said to have made a few basic errors.
Only running Duce 5 times when it was obvious the Pack couldnt tackle him for chocolate.
Instead running Buckhalter, who stank the place out last night.
Giving Brown precious little support early when it was pretty obvious the Pack would go after him. You would think Dawkins or Lewis might have been asked to keep more of an eye on him.
Our receivers failing miserably to get open and then when they did either dropping the ball (not naming any Freddies) or watching Dononvan try to take their toes off with it.
Donovan dropping the ball because he stumbled a smidge.
Akers missing an easy field goal.....etc.
I know its only human nature to highlight the mistakes of whoever loses, both our wins on MNF and last nights game all seem to have been achieved without any contribution from the NFC's #1 seed.
Brett had a sore thumb, Miami missed tackles, Green wasn't used enough, all valid points but you would think we never showed up at times.
Having said that I can't see me being too quick to heap praise on the Panthers if they turn us over on Sunday ;)
The Eagles are just not a very likeable team. Why that is, I'm not sure. The most likely culprits are the Philly fans, because nothing inspires friendly press like booing your own teams. So as long as the Philly area continues to be such a negative place, don't expect to get much positive press.

Even though I don't want either the Colts or the Patriots to win the Superbowl, I'm more inclined to root for them if the Eagles beat the Panthers. The Eagles just really aren't a likeable team.

Last year, I would've bought that. This year? He just rushed over 100 yards, and managed a miracle comeback against the Packers with no run support, mediocre recievers, and an offensive line that let him get sacked 8 times. You have to give McNabb some credit for that.

That is a good thing, a very good thing. But, I'll never look at the Bucket the same way again after hearing Lee Corso talk about sleeping with the Bucket between his legs the first time IU won it during his tenure.
